More Information (LLIL)

WARNING!  The point of this post is conversation.  If you do not comment, you have missed the point.

Hey!  Guys, what day is it?  Maybe I’m a bit confused but this is Tuesday.  Today I’m sharing the plot and some writing prompts.  Okay, to be honest, one of my favorite things is writing prompts.  You either find me:

A. Writing

B. Reading

or C. Borrowing my friends horse.

So, writing prompts falls into two of those three categories.  Is there any reason I shouldn’t like them?IMG_6186

Oh, okay, yeah, I guess I should move on.

*Ahem*

The plot is unstable.  The ending is not near.  The five children are going to have to save their world…

What?  Okay, that’s a bit weird but I’ll explain.

Part one, The plot is unstable.  Yeah, I’m not quite decided but I decided I wouldn’t quite decide because I need your help.  I’m mostly decided though.  Let’s go back to the warning and realize, “Oh, this is one of the points.  You should comment.”

Part two, The ending is not near.  Hehe, that was a bit melodramatic but all (good) writers are melodramatic at times.  The ending is obviously NOT near.  We haven’t even started, guys.

Part three, Five children are going to have to save their world.  Notice, I did not say THE world but their world.  Big difference, okay?  The Worth’s and Kyrie have found out a drastic problem and they are the only ones that believe it’s real.  Together, they all work hard to stop the plot and save the town of Abbeyton.

IMG_6187Tada!  I just gave away the plot without you noticing.  Hah.  Actually, you all probably noticed.  Here it is simply.

The Worths and Kyrie find out something terrible.  They are the only ones that believe it will really happen.  Together, they save the town of Abbeyton.

Yeah!  That’s the plot but it’s always flexible and it will have to have some funny parts.  Guys, this story is not to be serious.  Serious stories rot brain cells…Or something like that.  This is to be cute and fun and full of life!

Okay, before the writing prompts, I have to remind you.

You only have 12 days to sign up.

I know!  It’s getting short…so, if you are at all interested you better hurry!  I don’t want anyone to miss the fun we’re going to have.  Also, you had better sign up and then take your name off later than not sign up at all.

You have until December 6th to take your name off the list.

Is that clear?  I hope so.  I totally understand if you’ve changed your mind about doing this awesome adventure but if you take it off a week before your turn, you are in trouble.  So, you have until December 6th.

Now, it is time for the…..Writing prompts!

(Oh, and y’all have permission to steal this.  Hehe, I just stole the pleasure out of stealing. Okay, weird moment!)

Hehe!  One of my favorites.  In fact, I think I’ve said this a few times.

Have you ever broken any ice because you thought someone was a ‘lovely creature’?

How do you know?  *points an accusing finger*

Sometimes all you need is a little cuteness!IMG_6186

And that is all folks!  These are my amazing writing prompts.  Okay, now for the edited list.

  • There is to be no witchcraft.
  • There is to be no bad words (this is for all ages to read.)
  • and lastly…I have the right to request you to change some of the content of your part of the story.

Okay, and if you have anymore questions, comment or check out my characters and my clarified explanation here.

Yay! I’ve been waiting for this post!
My idea for possible Thing That Abbeytown Needs Saving From:
A woman who is secretly destroying the town by spreading nasty rumors so that no one trusts each other anymore… so that she can…uh…do something bad. Rats, my imagination just blanked. Any ideas? The big secret that gets found out and makes everything worse is that she’s actually Kyrie’s mother. (I love conflict! Whahaha!)
Does that sound plausible, Amie, or do other people have ideas? 😁

I’m so glad you’ve been waiting! You’re idea is great! I think it’s plausible, just needs some help, right? So…next Tuesday I’m going to put all these ideas into a post and it will be AMAZING! So, the rumors can start small, with crazily impossible things that actually couldn’t happen.
    What do you think?

I like the idea about the lady being Kyrie’s mother. Oh, I know, she could be trying to spread rumors that…. um, a house is haunted that some people live in so that they will move away. the reason she wants them to leave is because she will buy the land and get rich, because there is a hidden treasure on the land, but only she knows that.

Uh, because her grandfather had left his diaries to her, and he used to play with a boy that lived on the “haunted” property. The boy told him a story about how slaves had once been hidden there cause the house used to be a station in the underground railroad. and one of the slaves had a big stash of money (that he got from somewhere….) He had to flee in the middle of the night when slave catchers came to the house, but first he was able to hide his treasure. The boy’s family had lived there for generations and the story had been passed down. Well, the boy told the grandfather, the grandfather wrote it down in his diary, that family moved away, another one came that didn’t know about the story, and um, yeah.

So, it might be kind of crazy, but what do you think Amie?

I like it…But the haunted house is a bit weird. I like the part about the slaves stashing money but maybe….Hmm, okay, I need to ponder it a bit more before I give my idea away. Thanks, Mandalynn!

Exactly! So many ideas to use! So little time! Okay, so Kyrie’s aunt never tells her about her parents. Kyrie never asks. She just never thinks about it. And then the Worths and Kyrie figure out the secret. But how??

  4. Amie says:

Wait, it’s the aunt that’s planning this? I thought it was the unknown mother! Okay, and they find out on a rainy day. And so they have to take action but nobody believes five kids because Kyrie’s real mom is….Married to the Mayor!!!
Okay, maybe that’s a bit much.

  5. Mandalynn says:

Oh, sorry I got a bit confused. your right it was the unknown mother but hey that would be cool if the bad lady, aunt, and mother were the same lady (okay maybe that’s pushing it…..) oh, I actually like the part about the mayor. they could be in on this thing together!

This is sounding pretty neat…but…don’t y’all agree that hidden treasure is a bit overused? I mean, this is everybody’s story and if that’s what people want, I’m fine with it, but I bet we could come up with something more original! What do you think, Amie? 😃

  7. Sam Bowling says:

*Thinking*….We could make it that they’re wrong and there isn’t actually any treasure, but that’s rather anti-climax…maybe instead of money treasure, there’s like an oil mine or something underground on the property…but that’s not very original either. Sigh. Plus, the entire town doesn’t really need saving from either of those things, just the family who’re getting swindled…Hey, maybe the property in question could be Kyries aunt’s house! Kyrie doesn’t want to move and she’s suspicious, so she somehow gets the Worths to help her. Doesn’t solve the problem, but that’s all the thinking I can do for now. 🙂

I have an idea, what if, the mayor is running for reelection and he starts spreading bad rumors about his opponent. Then his wife (who is Kyrie’s mother) finds out about the hidden money. She is trying to find it because her husband needs it for his campaign so that he can spread more lies about the other man and win.
    What do you think Amie?

  9. Mandalynn says:

Yeah, that’s a good idea I’m fine with dropping the money. oh I know old newspapers are hidden that tell about bad stuff the mayor did when he was young (like maybe he stole a car and how to go to jail and then sold something for a crazy low price. The person thought they got a deal but he actually had swindled them) and his wife is trying to find them so she can destroy them but the kids find them first and save the town from a bad mayor.

They can still find the diaries and they will tell about the bad things the mayor had done. Of course, no one will believe the kids, so they start looking for evidence that is how they discover the newspapers.
Do you think it is a good idea?

  10. Amanda Davis says:

One question, how does this affect the Worth kids? Is the conflict just about Kyrie? What if the money is buried under the Worth’s house! So Kyrie’s mother is trying to buy their house, but the house was built by the Worth’s Great-great grandpa, so they know that since it’s old, it’ll fall over the minute someone drills a hole in the bottom. But Kyrie’s mom has made a huge media deal out of this(ummm…to pressure the Worth’s even more?..) and if they say no, they become the neighborhood laughing stock(because it’s somehow the deal of the century). Oops, I left out Kyrie! Well, maybe she figures out what her mom’s doing(with the journal in the attic idea) and finds in it a secret message telling her about something…important? This is just an idea of mine!
Btw, what’s Kyrie’s backstory? Why did her parents leave her with her aunt? Maybe her aunt kidnapped her! DO NOT TAKE THAT LAST SENTENCE SERIOUSLY. There has got to be a reason why her parents left her! Ok, I’m taking a break. What does everybody think?Amie, any suggestions?

It’s amazing! Guys! You’re doing a great job. Okay, so Kyrie’s mom left her, married the mayor and the mayor is running for office again. The children find out something (like newspapers) in the attic. It’s the deal of the century, at least the kids think it is, so they run and tell the police. The police contact the mayor and his wife but they somehow deflect the charges and make a laughing stock out of the Worths. The money or diary or will is buried under the Worths house or in their basement.

      Guys! This is awesome!

Okay: I like the idea of the property belonging to Kyrie’s aunt. And having the evil lady be Kyrie’s mom would explain why the aunt is to strict and always trying to make sure Kyrie is well-behaved, you know, not wanting her to turn out like her mother.
I agree that buried treasure is just too cliche. So… *THINKING* …Now in order for the problem to affect the whole town, it either has to be a natural disaster, some kind of creature(s), someone with a bunch of resources to fuel their ‘evil plot’, or a bunch of someones whose numbers naturally increase their strength and power. But what of any of these could be turned into a specific problem? Whatever it is, the problem must be a real threat, yet hidden so that no one believes the kids… …I’ll keep thinking about it. I do love having the historical flair of the Civil War in here, though.
Another question I have is what is the genre? Thriller? Mystery? Action & Adventure?

It’s not going to be historical fiction, that takes too much research! It’ll be now-a-days. Okay, that sounds amazing! I need to post a clear outline of what we have so far.

Okay, we could make it that her father died in war before Kyrie was born. So, when Kyrie was born, she look so much like her dad that her mother couldn’t bear to be near her, that’s why she’s with her aunt.

So, what if the something the mayor did when he was young was help a convict escape, and that convict was Kyrie’s mom? Maybe she was a thief or something, and he also helped her to steal some valuable item from the town? Would that work, Amie?

      1. Lydia Lewis says:

That was quick! : D Hey, would that be the reason why Kyrie’s aunt is mad at her mom? Maybe the aunt thought the mother should have been able to handle it better?

So, for each persons turn, you will email them to let them know it is their hour (Sorry, I just had to put that in) and tell them what you want to have happen in the chapter?
