Merry Medieval Christmas (part 4)

faltered forward.  Behind the Duke a lady walked out of the carriage with a son.  The Duke stopped and so did the other two.

“Where is Jane?”

I stepped forward, my thoughts were a buzzing beehive.  What was the worst thing they could do to me?  “Here, Father,” I gulped.

“Jane?” the Duke’s brow furrowed.  “Why are you not with the family?”

“I…I was walking toward them,” I whispered, standing next to the Duchess.

“You aren’t Jane,” the Duchess exclaimed loudly.

“Wha…What do you mean, Mother?” I stuttered.

The Duchess took my face in her hand.  “You fool, do you not think a mother would mistake someone else for her child?  Guards!”

IMG_0624 I turned as a voice yelled,

“Wait!”  It was Elizabeth, Anne, and Mary!  They ran up, out of breath and in total disarray.

“Wait,” Anne huffed.

“That isn’t Jane!” Elizabeth shouted.  “Jane would not have acted as this girl has.  Also, Jane has long hair.”

I blinked.  My hair!  Why had I not considered that?

“Soldiers!” the Duke called.  “Get her!”

“No! ” I yelled, turning and running in a different direction.  I now wished I had done cross-country instead of track.  I kicked off my shoes.

Taking a deep breath, I shouted,

“Jane, this is over!”

I lengthen my stride as the sound of feet grew closer.

What do you think is going to happen?  Only one more!  And then…It’s Christmas!  Are any of you busy this week?

    This is so exciting and interesting! 😮 I knew they’d find out! I just hope she get’s back to her time before they put her in jail, haha! No, I’m not busy this week, I’ve been really sick. 😦 No fun at all. But, we should get a foot of snow today so YAY! 😀

    Amie, you have me hooked! This is awesome! Some of those pictures must have token awhile to set up! Tomorrow we’re having a candle light service at our church…and then a cookie reception! Yeah! It’s one of my favorite church events!And then we’re doing to Indiana!

      Lol! I’m glad. It didn’t take all that long. It was just a little trying. I have low patience, so that was the hardest part. One of my dolls helped though. Her talent is getting everyone in order 😉
      Fun fun! A candle light service this early? Cookies! I’m visiting you tomorrow night xD I hope you have fun in IN. Why are you going again?

    I was going to ask why she doesn’t just tell the Duke about the switch, but then it wouldn’t be half as exciting, now would it? ; ) I am just busy with wrapping presents and hanging out with family. Normal Christmas days are splendid! I hope you all win your battle with colds.
