What’s up, guys? Right now I just stopped baby-sitting my siblings, and my family’s cat is meowing at my feet. Oh, she’s stopped. That’s good.
Today I am going to share my normal Monday with you. Actually, it wasn’t normal, but that’s beside the point. Let’s begin!
At five something in the morning my mom woke me up. Why? Because I had an Ortho appointment at seven ten. And my dentist is an hour away. So, this is what I look like after I stumble out of bed (my mom had to rewake me three times…) and happened to turn on the light and get my act together for a picture.

After this picture, I silently got dressed. I share a room with my four sisters, so I needed to be silent or I would be blamed for the rest of the year for waking them up at an unearthly hour. I chose a pretty normal outfit for this time of year. This week the weather has been in the sixties or seventies, so short sleeves made sense.

Usually in the morning I spend some time with my Best Friend, but I didn’t really have time. I did that later in the afternoon. When I went downstairs, my mom was kindly making me some eggs and toast.
After eating the toast and grabbing a cup of coffee, we walked out the door. The drive seems to take a long time, but I always enjoy talking to my mom and spending time with her. (Just so you know, she’s pretty amazing!)
At the dentist I got my wires changed, and I chose silver bands. I usually go with blue, (I had it last month) but I was feeling a bit more grown-uppity. That is why I chose silver.
On getting home, we all joined together to worship our King as a family. Monday is my younger sister’s turn to pick out the hymns. I can’t recall what she picked, but I know she did pick something!
And then I started on my schoolwork. This book about germs is amazing. The only problem was I had to cover one picture because it took my imaginative mind too far. Why do they add pictures of that kind of stuff in books?
But, if you are into germs, surgery, or anything with the human body, I recommend this book! It is very informative with lots of foreign language in it. (And who doesn’t like foreign language?)
My favorite subject is either rhetoric or history, but my history class is Law and Government at the moment, so I’m not very sure if I enjoy it. For my Bible, I was to chose a hymn to memorize. I chose “Jerusalem my happy home”. It’s a beautiful hymn full of comfort.

After school came lunch. As my mouth was in a bit of pain, my sweet dad went and got me my favorite food! Grits! And I don’t mean just grits, but grits with tons of butter and salt. The more salt the better, right? And my mom wanted bacon, so we had breakfast for lunch!

While my food digested, I had work to do. It’s the beginning of contest season! (laughs in excitement) I had to edit a story for an upcoming contest. Sadly, I’m 220 words over the obligated word count! Can you believe it? So, some of the story will have to be cut out.
The rest of the day I spent in grumpy silence. I’m not the best person to be with when in pain. I spent time playing hymns on the piano. Nothing is more soothing to my bodily pain, or metal confusion than the sound of the piano singing praise to my Matchless King.
I also spent the time reading God’s Word, and praying. And then, for my own amusement and for my edification, I’m reading “They called him Stonewall” by Burke Davis. It’s so interesting to learn more about one of my heroes. To have the will and the humility of T. J. Jackson would be amazing.
Enjoy my day? Would you like to see what other days of my week are like? Relate to any of my rambling? Comment below!
See y’all later,
~~Amie~~
I love this post, Amie! I’d definitely like to see more like it. XD

Girl, you look SO MUCH like me when I wake up in the morning! Ugh, the orthodontist hurts. XD I just had my braces taken off, and now I have a retainer. Woah, you look SO much older than me!

Haha! That’s funny. Wait, how old are you? Besides…I might be really old to have braces. *hides face*.

I know. I am 11. Oh, OK! Do you feel too old to have braces? I think that anyone can have braces at anytime. Sometimes I think that people are embarrassed that they have braces when they are older, but I think that it is just fine! Oh, wow. This is a long comment. XD

Oh, that’s why I look so much older than you…I am a bit older than you! Yes, I do feel to old, especially since I just recently got them on. I have no clue when I’m getting them off. (dentist said I’d be blessed to have them off in two years…) Yeah, I guess so. My mom had them twice. The last time she was twenty six or something like that.
Haha, feel free to post a long comment anytime!

I know everyone is saying this, but that picture really does look like me in the morning! I think we look similar. It’s the nose. Anyway, I also have that book about Stonewall Jackson! I haven’t started reading it yet, but I’m looking forward to it. (He is so weird.I mean really, really weird. Which equals interesting, right?) How are you liking it?

And, I have to confess I just shamelessly tried to read your story from the photo you took and now I’m dying of curiosity!! What happened to those poor girls? It sounds like someone just died or something. 😦 (Why did you have to put your pen right there in the way??) I have to find out! Okay, I know it serves me right…
😉 ❤

Oh! I wondered if anyone would do that. Okay, you’ll find out in March when the contest ends! But I have to cut out 220 words! *groans in agony*. Sam, you’re supposed to help me in this! Maybe I should email you the story.

I did the same thing!!! I wondered if anyone else would do it! And it sounds really interesting!
You aren’t too old, Amel. I have a friend who won’t get hers off until she’s fifteen and a half.

Hmm, it probably is. Maybe you’re my long lost twin. *ponders silently*. Oh, the book is AMAZING! I like weird people. Like, I REALLY like REALLY REALLY weird people. (Maybe because I’m one of the really really weird class.). You should start the book now!

Yes! As in yes, I’ll read the book soon, and YES you should totally email me the story! I can give you my advice in the letter I’m *writing* you. Ahem. Anyway, if you do send it to me, can Amanda read it too? She’s been entering writing contests lately and she’ll probably have good advice for you. 😁 (I mean, she did WIN!!)

All righty, I’ll send it to you. If Amanda has only good criticism, than she can read it. I’m picky about my critics.

Nice post! Im dreading having braces put on in May, I’m going to be so old to have braces! My brother still has braces, and he’s 17! This week has been insanely busy, it’s nice to see that at least someone was having a normalish day! Hope you do some more like this!

Oh, good! I’m not too old then (but I’m told guys usually have them later???)
Oh, I’m sorry you’ve been busy! Yes, a normal day is such a blessing.

You’re not too old to have braces (how old are you?), I got mine when I was 13 and only just had them removed in November (when I was two months shy of 16). I know a few people who wore them longer than that, and at much older ages. When you mentioned your band colors I recalled how I always chose silver, but considered blue a few times. ; ) I share a room with two of my sisters – used to be three – and can relate to silently fumbling around in the morning!

I’m sadly not allowed to put my age on anything that can be tracked. *Looks around carefully*. I’m a teenager, and that’s all I can say. Haha! that’s funny!
