Welcome back to another Crazily Acquainted.  Today I actually have another friend here with me. Ya know, I try to keep this formal, but it doesn’t work so well.  Today is Anna, from Annie Writes!  Welcome!

(Y’all know the rules…comment below if you want to be interviewed.  The questions are in bold, answers in plain.)

Why did you decide to have a blog?

I decided to start blogging because I absolutely love writing! I wanted to not only write-through my books, but write encouraging articles to my readers once a week.

Why did you chose the name?

I chose the name of my blog—“Annie Writes” because I love to write, and I wanted to use the gift that God gave me to encourage others in their walks with Christ! 🙂

What do you write about/plan to write about?

For my blog, I usually write devotionals/articles, book reviews, tips for Christian girls of all ages, and occasionally photography tips. With writing books, I don’t do too much planning, haha! I’m the kind of writer that sits down and begins to write…no planning involved! 😉

Do you prefer serious or crazy writing?

Well, it depends. 😉 For my blog and books, I usually prefer serious writing.

What is/was the hardest part of your blog?

Ooh! Good question! 🙂 The hardest part has been figuring out what to write on my blog each week. I now have a running list of topics for future posts, which has really helped me a lot! (After struggling with what kinds of blog posts I should write next, a friend gave me this idea, and I thought it was perfect!)

Is Anna your real name or a pseudonym?

Anna is my real name! My nickname is Annie, so I use that name for my blog to make it ….umm… unique maybe?! Haha!

What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?

I like mint chocolate chip!

What inspired you to learn sign language?

I began a sign language class in 5th grade at a local home school co-op. I loved learning sign language! 🙂 The next couple of years I stopped learning sign language because we were very busy. In 8th grade, I started Spanish class. I was on my second class, and I knew that Spanish wasn’t what God wanted me to learn. (No, I’m not against learning Spanish; I’d love to learn a little bit someday.) I remembered that I took ASL (American Sign Language) in 5th grade, and asked my mom if I could use that as my foreign language. God brought a really kind family into my life later that year, and I was able to babysit the children, and the mom payed me with free ASL lessons. It was perfect! She organized a meet with someone from “Silent Word Ministries.” (http://silentwordministries.org/) When Mr. Bracelin, who works with Silent Word Ministries, told us that that many deaf could sit in a room with someone talking about Jesus’ love for them, and they wouldn’t even know, I knew God had a plan for me to use ASL.

When did you first pick up a camera?

I think I was around five years old when I took a picture with a camera. Everyone thought it was a pretend camera and made funny faces… They thought I was too little to know what I was doing with a camera! 😉 Yep, I still have some pretty hilarious pictures on that camera! 🙂

Where do you play clarinet?

I take weekly lessons at a local studio, and have enjoyed playing clarinet for 5 years now.

What is your favorite song?

I have so many favorite songs!! If I had to choose one, it would probably be “My Lighthouse” by Rend Collective.

And lastly, what would you call your blog mission?

My mission for Annie Writes is for it to be a place for Christian girls to come and be encouraged to shine for Jesus wherever they are in their walks with Christ.

Thank you so much for having me at Crazy A, Amie! It was a privilege to be here! 🙂

Awe!  Thanks for agreeing to do this, Anna.  Her articles are amazing, and she has an amazing magazine that I’m privilege to write for.  Check that out here.
