Judy only has one friend: her goldfish, Marlie.
With Marlie gone, who can Judy rely on?
Goldfish Secrets is the short story prequel to The Lady of the Vineyard.
Hello guys! Today I’m reviewing Goldfish Secrets. When I first saw Kellyn was have a relaunch, or whatever she’s doing with this, I was super excited. The Lady of the Vineyard was the first book I read by Kellyn, and I was enchanted by her writing style. It’s sweet, and the romance is extremely clean. In a lot of ways, the romance reminds me of Christy by Catherine Marshall, and that’s high praise from me. I totally love Christy. Anyway, I was excited.
But, after I read it, I’ll be honest. I was extremely disappointed. It didn’t have such a Kellyn feel to it, and it wasn’t anything new, if you read The Lady of the Vineyard first. We all knew that Judy was lonely. We know that Judy couldn’t trust lots of people in her life. It just didn’t make sense to me.
BUT!
Since her divorce, Adele Collier has pursued her own pleasure at the expense of her daughter. When her ex-husband suddenly reappears in their lives, Adele allows him to take Judy to France with him for the summer. The time apart leads her to realize her daughter is the light of her world, yet she’s still not sure she’s ready to give up her lifestyle.
Six-year-old Judy is more than happy to trade her mother’s neglect for her father’s adoring care. She loves his vineyard and wishes she could stay there forever … but someday she must return to England and her mother. However, Judy isn’t sure she can ever trust her mother again.
A novella set in pre-WW2 Europe, this sweet story is sure to delight lovers of light-hearted historical fiction.
The Lady of the Vineyard
Is absolutely lovely! I adore it, and I was extremely disappointed with it came to an end. I want to know what happens to Judy when she gets older! It was such a sweet story, and EVERYONE must read it.
Judy’s dad is just…*heart eyes* Amazing! And I feel so bad for Adele. She’s seriously my favorite character. You certainly MUST read it.
I have not read Flowers, but that is on my want-to-read list.

P.S. Can you tell I’m horrible at reviews?
So the review says that Marlie the goldfish is ‘gone.’ Just wondering (This is the random question part of me speaking), does Marlie die or get taken away or something?

You will have to read it to find out. *smiles* I wouldn’t want to ruin it for you. 😉

Kellyn Roth is amazing!!!!!! I have read books/stories where they didn’t quite have the authors feel or air, so I know what you meant by that.

Yeah, it’s always annoying to the reader to expect an author original, and they just don’t feel like the author.
