Hullo! Today I’m so happy to be able to be apart of another blog tour! This time for Lisa Ren’ee’s book, “More Than a Second Chance.”
It also means I get to review another book. *cracks knuckles* So why waste time? Let’s hop into this review.
I’ll be honest, I was really surprised by the book. I signed up, not sure what to expect after the last book I review without knowing the author. So I almost didn’t sign up for this blog tour, but now I’m glad I did!
Star review: Four stars.
Content warnings: It talks about drugs, pregnancy out of wedlock, and abuse, but nothing in huge detail. So it talks about hard topics in a Christian light, showing how God works through sin, shame, and pain in the lives of His children.
I already said I went into this without any expectations, and much hesitation. But I quickly became interested in the lives of Cassie and Chris, and what I loved the most about this book was that is wasn’t only a “mushy gushy romance.” It also dealt with Cassie’s work with troubled teens, and lots of cooking. XD Not to mention the struggles of daily life, the desires of the flesh, and awesome family members.
And the last scene? *insert heart eyes* It makes the book 100% times better, I loved it so much.
Honestly, there wasn’t anything I saw in the book to critique, I enjoyed the excuse to stop writing myself in order to read it. Definitely a good book for a cold, rainy, Saturday when you have nothing else to do.
(Also, Lisa has one of the best author bios ever. XD)
