Snowball Hasn’t Left

Well, well, well. It appears that Amie has been too busy to take care of her blog, and has informed me that switching blogs doesn’t work, and her email list is a mess, so I should take over and clean up her mess. She’s considerate like that, in case you were wondering.

Oh, who am I?

Snowball Rabbit, detective, obviously.

And I haven’t been on Amie’s blog in months. Not that I’m complaining. It gave me more time to sleep, and eat, and run around being cute. It’s simply hilarious how crazy humans get over my “cuteness.”

Did Amie tell you about her friends visiting? They are dedicated fans of me, though I wouldn’t say they’re dedicated fans of Amie. I mean, what can I say? They have good tastes. 😎

yes, Amie showed me how to insert emojis. I feel as though I am in the 21st century finally.

Anyway, they (the friends, not Amie or the 21st century) gave me the attention deserved of such a famous rabbit. But that reminds me, I made my first acting debut in Amie’s YouTube video, “Organized Writers.” Click those words to be transported to the video. I must say, the best part is me, but I did appreciate how Amie forgot to get her trash, so she had to go back and get it. Usually she doesn’t go back to get her trash. 😒

Sometimes it feels as though I am in a constant movie theatre, watching “The Secret Life of Owners.” It’s very amusing, though sometimes too loud for my sensitive ears. Talking about sensitive, you have no idea how hard it is to take care of my sensitive fur. I grow a lot more in winter to protect me from the chilly blasts that whistle through the house, and goodness. I become a fluff ball that has ears. *sighs*

But thankfully I can behave just as dignified as ever, extra fluff or no extra fluff. Oh, other good news is that Amie has been sharing her bananas with me. It’s very thoughtful of her, though she forgets until I give her the masterful glare.

Masterful glares are very effective, let me tell you. And if you want to get out of your cage, simply chew on it, and people will recognize your distress and let you out of your cage.

Amie also asked me to promote my book. I mean, Christmas is coming up, and people have siblings, friends, nieces, nephews, children, grandchildren that might want a Snowball book. I mean, who wouldn’t want a book about me?

Especially a book about me, an apple, and a mystery! It’s geared towards children who need to be read to. Whatever age that is, and who enjoy colorful pictures of super adorable dignified rabbits like me.

Rabbits are very important animals, just so you know.

You can learn more about my book here. And you can purchase it here. And if you would like to buy a signed copy, contact Amie. It’ll be the same price as buying it from LuLu. ($15)

Now to close this post. Dear me, have I come to the end already? Amie should have done this post since it was so easy. Children, remember to eat your greens, and never forget that popcorn is tasty.

I remain,

Snowball Rabbit, detective.

Christmas Gift Ideas #2

Hullo and welcome back!  Today I’m going to be giving you ideas for your fathers, brothers, uncles, grandfathers…*draws a deep breath* Okay, I could go on, but you get the idea.  I’m excited to see how hard this is going to be for me to come up with, so let’s hop to it!

You can order this here.

Men seem to have an obsession with facial hair, if they can grow it.  😑  So, if your dad, granddad, or someone in your life that you need to get a present for has a beard, go for it.  My dad has a beard, so this was the first thing that came to my mind.  And it’s not too expensive.

You can order this here.

Both my dad, my uncles, and my granddad love their coffee, so I’m assuming most men like coffee.  Get them a cup that reminds them how much you love them while they drink their coffee.  Obviously that is the best dad cup up there. XD

Please, just take a minute to boggle over that cover.  😍 Yep, I’m liking the cover, and I’m wishing I had this book.  (*looks at siblings* You better have gotten this for me.)  Since I haven’t read the book yet, I’ll just give you the summary off Amazon.

Lethal persecution. Haunting decisions. Death just a whisper away.

Jack grew up concealing his faith, but now the persecution of Christians has turned lethal. After inadvertently putting his family in danger, Jack becomes aware of a covert agency dedicated to protecting Christians. The agency takes his mother and sister to safety and offers him a position as an emergency medic within their ranks.

Caring for the injured allows Jack to help their cause without violating his pacifistic beliefs, but he stands at odds with tough resistance fighter Britain. Grueling firefights, severe losses, and desperate choices test their beliefs as each of them seeks to save lives no matter the cost. But what is that cost?

Please, let me read this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can order this here.

*cough* I almost put up a tee-shirt that said “books and coffee” but I realized I was probably the only one that liked that.  So?  Give this to your writer friend/brother.  We’d all better be careful…Except, I’ve never put someone I knew in my novel.  (Well, except my little sister. 😂)

So I don’t have a picture for this idea.  But!  Get your brother/dad/friend (okay, that’s getting very annoying to say) a music album from their favorite artists.

You can order this here.

G.A. Henty might have written some of the worse books ever written, but Heirloom Audio Productions have turned them into AMAZING audio dramas.  Okay, here’s a list of the actors.  In Freedom’s Cause had Skandar Keynes (from Narnia), this one has Chris Anthony (from Adventures in Odyssey), and in Captain Bailey’s Heir there’s John Rhys Davies.  With Lee in Virginia is by far the best.  Battle, friendship, a daring girl, death, General Lee, Stonewall Jackson, COME ON, GUYS!  YOU MUST GET THIS!!!!! (If I have to choose an audio drama, it’s With Lee in Virginia, The Dragon and the Raven, or the White Gypsy.  All so good.)

You can order this here.

Duck tape, battles, wars, and just about anything you can imagine.  Which boy wouldn’t want that?  My brother still loves to go over his warfare by duck tape books and he still fights with his sword.  This is an awesome gift, I assure you.  🙂

You can order this here.

Which boy doesn’t enjoy Legos?  What about a Lego movie that’s all about Joshua and the battle of Jericho?  It’s a hilarious movie that is funny.  (I can’t think of anything else to say.  It’s been years since I watched it, but my siblings and I still talk about it to this day. XD) It’s even on sale!

You can order this here.

And since we’re on the topic of Legos, here is a Lego story!  I’ll add the description to tell you what it’s about.

A young hunter is suddenly thrust into a vital role as the sole emissary to a neighboring kingdom, seeking aid in the struggle against a deadly foe. An evil empire is threatening to destroy his peaceful, forested homeland!

Completely illustrated with 163 photos of amazing LEGO creations built by the authors, Mark and Steven Erickson. Readers both young and young-at-heart will be enthralled with a sweeping tale of deadly struggle and heroic victory!

Sounds promising, right?

You can order this here.

*silently really wants this for myself* And, of course, why don’t you get him a knife?  One of the best things ever for a man, honestly.  This Bowie knife is like, um, really pretty? So you should definitely get him this.

You can order this here.

And lastly, we have Douglas Bond’s wonderful book, War in the Wasteland.  It’s a well written historical fiction about C.S. Lewis before he became a Christian.  An absolute MUST read.  I love Douglas Bond’s books, and so does my brother.  (They’re actually supposed to be boy books, but hey, I like boy books.)  You should totally get this for your brother.  *nods*

AND there you go.  Ten Eleven ideas on what to get your…Okay, I’m not going back into that.  You know what I mean.  *sighs*. Typing all those names takes TOO long.

Christmas Gift Ideas #1

Today I’m going to be helping y’all window shop, since obviously that’s all anyone has money to do after Black Friday.  Maybe we should all go raid monopoly and see if the stores will take the money from there. 🤣

I’m going to be giving you ideas for your sisters, mother, aunts, and (girl) friends.  I’m planning for another gift idea post for brothers, father, uncles, and (boy) friends in the future, but at the moment I thought it was best to start with things I would get myself. (Haha.)

You can get this and more here.

First up we have these absolutely beautiful necklaces made by Allison.  I’m a strictly no jewelry person, just because I forget about it.  (hehe.) But most of my friends find a piece of jewelry a wonderful addition to their wardrobe, and who doesn’t love these hand-lettered necklaces?  I was seriously tempted to get one for myself.  XD

You can find these here.

Everyone uses envelopes, right?  Well, why not use pretty envelopes?  My friend, Allison, sells some envelopes on her Etsy shop that are just the thing.  If you’re giving some to your mom, chose the (less) interesting ones above, or if it’s your pen-pal or friend, chose the cooler design she also offers.  This is a really neat gift idea.  *nods head quickly*

You can get this here.

You’re not sure exactly what to get?  This nativity scene is the cutest thing ever!  It’s not too big, but just enough to decorate with.  (Seriously, it’s so amazing.)  I don’t know if I could say enough for it!  Last year, I got my mom something similar to it, and she loved it.  This is a great gift for mom or grandma.

You can order this here.

If your friend, sister, cousin is an Austen lover, what could be better than giving them an Austen twist?  I’m not a romance reader, or lover, but this book was written so well!  I usually can see right through romances, but I didn’t in this book, which was a wonderful surprise to me.

You can order this here.

I like mermaids, I like blankets.  I like being warm.  What if you could put those three things together?  I think this blanket is so cool!  I thought about getting one for one of my sisters…Maybe next year?  Doesn’t it look so soft?

You can order this here.

Inch worms are kinda gross little things in the real world, but what if you could have an inchworm that shared your favorite hobby, like, maybe reading?  My friend, Megan, makes the cutest little inch worms on her Etsy shop, which I think you really should explore.

You can order this here.

If your friend is a musician, what could be better than getting them a pretty strap for their instrument?  You can never have too many straps for your guitar (or was that picks?) You could also get them a pack of strings.  Believe me, a musician goes through strings faster than you can imagine.  Or, if your friend is a photographer, get her a pretty camera strap.

You can order this here.

October blew me away.  It made me cry, laugh, and really, I couldn’t sleep after I finished it.  (Yes, it was around 11:30 pm, but hey.  That’s what books are for.)  For some reason, October reminded me so much of me, and yet, then I would see a bit of Emily, and I was Emily.  But I’m supposed to be convincing you to buy this, not rave about it. XD  It’s a story for 12+ but so masterfully woven and heart touching.  I think any friend you’d give it to would thank you over and over for it. 😀

You can order this here.

Am I the only one that still loves beanies?  Please tell me I’m not all alone.  Everyone should keep their head warm, and why not do it in style?

You can order this here.

Maybe it’s just because I’m a coffee-loving tee-shirt wearer that I love this shirt so much!  A fun gift for anyone is a tee-shirt that matches their interests.  I gave my mom a tee-shirt that said, “Blessed” and. scripture verse for her birthday.  (Tee-shirts are my go-to gift when I have no ideas.  I mean, everyone has to wear clothes, right?)

Of course, you could also just go the easy route and buy tea, coffee, or hot chocolate and some candy for your friend/relative.  I don’t blame you.  It’s too much work to come up with cool ideas for gifts.  *gives an exhausted sigh*.  Welp, I’m off to the next thing on my to-do list.

News Break

Today I’m here with myself, who happens to be Amie.  We decided to have this news break in order to surprise all our faithful followers with something they won’t be surprised about.  Are you ready?

I’m writing another book!

Photo on 1-30-18 at 11.52 AM

Oh yeah!  It’s currently under construction.  Are you ready to learn about it?  Of course you are!  So, the title is not available yet, and I’m not sure you want to hear about it anyway.

I really shouldn’t be writing another story, at least not this one.  Why?  Because I have two sequels begging to be written!  But, I had this one all planned out while the sequels looked like this…

They get back.  Find king???  Missing Queen.  Prince??? IDK, perhaps he’s dead?  And what about Gil??? They have to meet him….Duh!  The fight with dragon….What???

Tour Germany???  Okay, and maybe they should meet college student? What should she be named???  Okay, obviously — knows German.  Wait, does that mean I have to study German???  Okay, and parent’s get kidnapped.  Poor kids.  What about —?  He should get kidnapped too.  Um, what about —?  IDK, perhaps they die!!

So, you see why I started this book.  Here’s the planning for it.

Character’s names and ages.

Character’s pets.

Chap. one.  Have a funny introduction (spoiler alert!). Meet up with Dad’s old friend and learn about the characters.

Voila!  I will be announcing more as I go into it…but can you believe it?  I already have 4, 692 words done.  Boom.  That’s just amazing.

On to the next thing.  All you amazing fans that really enjoyed Snow Nightmare definitely have to check out this post here.  Don’t worry, this post won’t bite.

And lastly, check out this amazing interview of me!  Thank you so much, Buttercup, for posting it!

LLIL Update! (Plot)

Okay, so I promised an orderly plot update for Lovely Links in Literature.  There was a lot of brainstorming last Tuesday and Wednesday.  I want to thank you all for your interest and thoughts concerning this simple story.

In Abbeyton it’s time for the election!  The mayor (he’s unnamed) doesn’t seem worried about his rival.

During that time, the Worth’s meet Kyrie.  Together they are digging in the attic(or somewhere else.  Depends whose writing this part)  of Kyrie’s house.  They find this journal of a young lady by the name of —–.  I know, she’s unnamed.

Unnamed happens to write about something very important.  That clue leads to the children falling into scrapes, finding out why the mayor isn’t worried, who Kyrie’s mother is…and more!  It’s a pretty flexible plot so you don’t find it annoying.  We are in this together!

Sorry it’s so short but I just wanted to update you!  Here’s the list.  Hab was moved down so you should make sure you like where you’re placed!

Olivia Bell a.k.a Livy

Amanda G. D.

You have until December sixth to take your name off, not that you’d want to!  If you want more info, just look in the LLIL category of my blog!

All right, here it is.  I’m starting a thingy called, “Lovely Links in Literature” or LLIL for short.  The idea is like a chain story.  I’ll start the story and then I’ll have a list of people to continue it.

My first pet?  I’ll go with family pets.  It was Little G.
77.) what color are your sheets?
 I don’t really remember.  I think they’re white, though.
78.) how are you feeling right now?
Pretty happy but a little cold and sore.
79.) what was your favorite food as a child?
Um, Hamburgers or I don’t know.  I barely ate as a child.  I was the thinnest thing alive it seemed.
 80.) how tall are you?
I’m 5’10” and some change.
81.) can you whistle?
Yep!  I can indeed.  But it gradually gets softer and softer after the first few minutes.
82.) do you drink soda?
No, not really.  I don’t like it.  But I do like sparkling water! *blissful sigh*
83.) have you read the harry potter series?
Yes, when I was seven but I don’t like them.  I never read the seventh, because my brother said they all died and stuff, so I didn’t want to.
84.) can you drive a stick shift?
Um, no.  I can’t even drive yet.
85.) what’s your favorite candle scent?
Oooh!  This is a good and hard question.  I love cinnamon and sugar cookie but I’m not sure which is my favorite.  I also really like vanilla.
86.) have your pants ever fallen down in public?
 Uh, NOOOO!  That’s awful!
87.) do you sing in the shower?
 No, I talk though.
88.) can you speak another language?
 Yep, I can speak Latin.
89.) can you close your eyes and raise your eyebrows?
Yeah, that’s easy.  Why, you can’t?

90.) dogs or cats?

DOGS!!!!!!!!  I detest cats.

91.) do you make wishes at 11:11?

No, why would I?  Is there something special about that time?

92.) what’s your favorite type of chapstick?

Oh, this is hard.  I prefer the chapstick brand and I like cherry or peppermint.  I don’t like pumpkin pie or the sugar cookie.

93.) which came first–the chicken or the egg?

The chicken.  God created it in the creation week.

94.) what are you reading now?

Uh, well, that’s hard.  I’m not really reading anything.  I think I’m going to reread the LotR or “The Mysterious Benedict Society”.

95.) can you touch your nose with your tongue?

No, I always lost that challenge.  My brother can, so we’d fight over it in the car when we were little.

96.) can you walk in heels?

Lol, no.  Anyway, I’d be over six feet if I wore them.

97.) how many rings before you answer the phone?

Uh, a lot.  I like to make people sit there and wonder.

98.) any new and exciting things you’d like to share?

Uh, I’m doing a Q&A?  No, nothing new or exciting.

99.) what is most important in life?

Your relationship with your Creator, and your Savior.

100.) what inspires you?

Well, this is what, not who, so I’ll go with what.  The Bible, God’s Holy Word inspires me.  C.S.Lewis’ Chronicles of Narnia inspires me.  A lot of stuff do.  A blank piece of paper and a pen.  A challenge.  A crisp morning.  A lot of small things do.

Well, that’s the tag!  Any of y’all who want to do it can, and it is fun!

Signing out with a flourish,

Fall Decor and DIY

Hey guys!  Today I’m here to bring a bit of fall into your life.  This has been an ongoing project to decorate my desk for fall.  Actually, it was a challenge from my little sister and I’m pretty bad a turning down challenges.

Okay, here is an overall look of my humble desk.  Last week, I’m afraid to say it was piled high with papers.  That’s where the challenge came from.

All right, we are starting on the left side of the desk.  I have made a sign to remind me who the Lord of harvest really is.  It’s taken from the hymn, “Come Ye Thankful People, Come,” which is one of my family’s favorites.IMG_9749.JPG

I also have one of my favorite decorations, my most adorable little teapot.  It’s simple cream color and I’ve placed decretive flowers in it.  Next to it I have a crocheted pumpkin (I got tired of real pumpkins rotting on me!) and Sneaky, my little fox friend.  Sneaky is made out of felt.  Isn’t he a cutie?

Sneaky, my little fox friend!
A crocheted pumpkin.  They don’t rot on you!

On the right side of my desk, I have three Ball mason jars, which I painted metallic gold and burgundy.  Next to them I have Nutkins, my squirrel friend and two more crocheted pumpkins.

My little buddy, Nutkin.

Now, for the DIY.

After I made the pumpkins, I wondered what else I could make out of yarn and a needle. After considering other fall stuff, I accidentally stepped on an acorn.  What is better to go with a squirrel than an acorn??  Nothing!

What could be better?

I’m really bad at giving instructions, so I’m hoping you’ve crocheted before if you’re going off this DIY.

First, crochet three.  Than make a ring.  After that, go around once doing a double stitch.  Now, go around twice, alternating doing two and just one double stitch in each hole thing.  After you’ve accomplished that, change yarn.  Go around twice doing two double stitches in each hole.  Then, alternate skipping a hole and doing the normal thingy.  Oh, make sure you’re still doing a double stitch.  Once you have no more holes, you’re done!

Your acorn should look like this.

I hope that made sense.  It makes sense to me, since I made it.  If you try it out, make sure to comment down below!

Okay, now I’m doing a fun extra.  Allison said in her last art lab

“Draw a picture of what nothing would look like if it was something. I… don’t even know if this is possible.”–Allison

I took that as a challenge, and I think I have successfully drawn a picture of Nothing.  I tend to think in words, so when you see this picture, try to imagine words.

Now, let me explain.  Nothing is actually something.  So, if you are into puzzles, look back at the letters inside nothing.

Ah?  Did you find something interesting?  I thought you would.  Now, comment down below if you figured out the puzzle.  I want to see how many people get it.

And now I’m going to announce….A Q&A a week from Saturday!  You can comment down below with your questions and I hope I’ll be able to answer them all.  I’m actually excited about this, so y’all better comment!

Now, I’m off to figure out another puzzle and to read another book.
