Hey y’all. Just dropping in to post this picture. The theme was Candle, Candy Cane, Card, Carols, Celebrate, Chestnuts, and Chill. I tried to get all seven in my picture.
Hey y’all. Just dropping in to post this picture. The theme was Candle, Candy Cane, Card, Carols, Celebrate, Chestnuts, and Chill. I tried to get all seven in my picture.
Whew, is it already over? I slept late this morning, something I NEVER do, but…I didn’t get up until eight. XD Yes, I had so much fun that I was worn out. And no, I actually barely at anything. I ate was four sugar cookies with frosting because, y’all, I LOVE FROSTING!
*cough* But, that’s beside the point. For Thanksgiving we went to our awesome friend’s house, who we like to call our cousins. It was so much fun hanging out with Jaclynn, Mandalynn, and Miranda, and just fellowshipping and laughing. (We laughed, like, A LOT.) XD
We got to their house about two, and they gave me the rundown on what’s been happening in their busy lives. I must admit that I loved the car ride there. I’m the kind of person that loves earphones and music, and the soothing movement of the car. I tried to write letters on the way, but the road was just a bit too rough.
The girls were busy cooking for some of the time before dinner, so I explored outside and made sure the littles weren’t killing each other. I thought this was the cutest thing ever. ❤
Rose and Sara had lots of fun talking as well. They’re best of friends, and suddenly become quiet when I approach them. XD I think secrets of some sort were being shared.
Baby Sis and Little C were so cute together! Little C loved tackling everyone that came his way, and his smile was so cute! Yes, he was totally ADORABLE.
We had to take our typical selfie together. Last year we took a selfie right in front of my family’s van and so we had to again this year. After dinner we decided to set out for a photoshoot. Sadly, I don’t have a DSLR at the moment, so we just had to borrow my dad’s phone. 😀
We found some crab apples, and so I was able to try them for the first time. THEY WERE SO GOOD! When I have my own house, I’m planting four crab apple trees, because they’re just that good. The perfect mixture of sour and sweet.
We saw THE CUTEST donkeys on our way, and so we stopped to pet them and some super friendly goats. The donkeys were so soft, and sweet, and now my heart is totally stolen by donkeys. ❤ Can you guess what pet I want next? XD
I mean, seriously, what can be cuter than that little face? (Okay, this post seems to be me gushing about cute toddlers and adorable donkeys, LOL.)
For some reason I just think this picture is so pretty. The lightening and then us? Yep, Jaclynn did a wonderful job taking this picture. I wish I could remember ever last thing we said to each other. We talked and joked so much, that all my thoughts seem to run into each other.
Sometimes, I wish that a day could suddenly become 48 hours, and that I had a memory that would last forever. Yesterday was one of those awesome days that you’ll forever treasure because you’re with people you love, and that love you. It was lovely. ❤
We love trees for photo props, for some reason. They’re really neat, except by the end of the photo shoot we all had dirt and bark in our hair. 😛 The three sisters posing. 😀
We all had to take turns taking the pictures. Jaclynn and Mandalynn were the chief photographers because they wanted me to be in the pictures. XD This picture came after a row of pictures of us goofing off. It’s really hard for me to stay serious in front of the camera.
Who said we had to be serious? It’s thanksgiving after all, time for us all to be a turkey.
We each took a picture of us by ourselves. Miranda wanted to climb in the tree for hers. The evening light was sometimes a bit tricky, but it was still so pretty!
Mandalynn. She was sniffing the air and saying, “Ah, it smells just so fresh!” XD Yes, the air did certainly smell fresh. I didn’t realize how cold it was outside until we went back to the house, but it was definitely a brisk and fresh afternoon.
We tried to take a picture of Jaclynn throwing her hair back, but…It didn’t exactly work out. XD So we went with this picture. 😀
Apparently I’m ruining a really good shot. XD Miranda definitely looks the coolest. I’m afraid the food had gotten to me, and so I could only pose a bit unnaturally. XD
This was one picture that failed. I was supposed to be doing pull ups while they were looking at me impressed, but the only person that was doing what they were supposed to was me. 😛 Jaclynn looks like she’s scared I’m going to break the branch, while I’m not sure what Mandalynn is looking towards.
The sisters look so sweet together! I enjoyed taking this picture for them. 🙂
Apparently when I stood my full height, I made them look too short, so I had to shorten myself. After this picture, we continued our walk.
We found a cow trailer, and thought it would be a very good place to take some more pictures. But…Well, we kinda goofed off the whole time, so a lot of the pictures didn’t turn out. XD
Mandalynn and I started talking about short stories we’re writing, which ended with us laughing, and joking. It was hard to keep our faces straight while we posed.
We came up with funny jokes and phrases. Somehow they seem to stick with us. Most of us all have an inside joke about our future, or something along those lines.
We thought it would be a good idea to all jump at the same time and take a picture. The only problem was that Mandalynn thought we meant jump off the trailer instead of just jump up. XD So this is what the picture looked like.
We can be serious. Believe me, we really can.
The rest of the night was spent in singing, and listening to stories read or told by their dad. And then came the cookie decorating, but I didn’t take any pictures of that. You know my style of cookie decorating. Who cares if it’s pretty? The more fluffy icing, the better!
And that’s the end of this post! We had the best time ever, and it was full of friendship and laughter. I’m already looking forward to next time…
How was your Thanksgiving? Do you like donkeys? What is your favorite photo prop?
Hello, guys! What’s up? The other day my mom finally agreed to take me to Hobby Lobby. (And who doesn’t like going to Hobby Lobby?) Rose, my mom, and I all got into the car, and I happened to bring my camera along.
Because, who else thinks that Hobby Lobby has some of the prettiest displays ever? And so, here are a few pictures I took.
So, I stumbled upon that little guy up there, and I couldn’t help thinking he was adorable! I mean, who doesn’t like a little owl with glasses, a vest, and a hat? I took a lot of pictures of him, but sadly only the one above turned out. *sigh*
I didn’t realize how close we are to Christmas until I entered that store. I mean, it’s only how many months away? XD But I suddenly felt like getting out my scarfs and hats. I guess it’s about time to be Christmas shopping? But, while I was taking these pictures, I suddenly noticed that my mom and sister had gone missing.
So, I just continued taking pictures. XD
I honestly think that would be the cutest pregnancy announcement. Haha…Weird, I know? But still, it is cute…
Really, there isn’t, guys. Especially if it snows. *silently prays for snow* Everyone! Join with me!
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow…❄️
There’s something about a snowman’s smile that melts your heart. (Haha, pun intended. XD)
So, I was wondering what Santa was looking at so longingly when I took this picture. He seems rather wishful, doesn’t he? (At first I just thought he wanted to shave off that itchy beard, and loose a few pounds…)
But Santa’s envious of the nutcracker’s cloaks! 😳😂
I wish I could live in this scene…
So, I stumbled across the best letter in the alphabet. It kinda just deserved a picture, you know?
Fluffy, big flowers…They were nice, but…
I kinda just liked this better. (Wonder why, right?)
AH! LET ME FEAST MY EYES.
And even though fake flowers aren’t quite as pretty as real ones, here are a few pictures of them that I took. I wished I had more time, but my mom and sister were not about to spend the whole day in Hobby Lobby. XD (I was, though.)
I hope you enjoyed this post! I did get a few weird looks from fellow shoppers. I mean, how many times to you see a girl snapping pictures at every angle in Hobby Lobby? My point exactly.
Did you guess what today’s post is about? If you guess my favorite things, you’re right! Here are the rules.
Thank and link back to the persons blog who tagged you!
Ahem, sorry. I forgot my manners. Anna, thank you so much for tagging me! It was very kind of you. ❤
♥ Thank and link back to the persons blog who started the tag! (Beth in Boots)
♥ Write about seven of your favorite things in your post! (add at least one picture of everything!)
♥ Tag seven people at least! ( If you don’t know seven blogs to tag just tag as many as you can)
♥ Put the seven rules in your blog post!
♥ Include the picture above for the beginning of your post!
♥ Have fun!!!
All right! So, here we go! (In the order I thought of them. Please realize they might not be in the order of my favorite, but it’s just some of them.)
My instruments! (Sorry, I was not about to drag my piano outside.) For those of you who don’t know instruments, there is a guitar, a violin, and a banjo pictured above. Comment below if you play any of them! This also includes all music. I got distracted while I was taking this photo shoot, and just sat there and played violin for a few minutes.
I couldn’t add a horse, since my horse photos are a little outdated, but this was as close as I got. Anyone love anything horse related? Picture above are my Sunday boots (That’s why they’re clean), my cowgirl hat, and my boho tie. I wish I could have pictured more, but I kinda felt it would loose it’s photogenic qualities, if you know what I mean. Maybe you don’t. Either way, those are some of my favorite things!
Books! Who doesn’t like books? I just realized that one of the books are upside down. Oops. I guess that photo was a photography fail. 😬 But these books (with the exception of “Caleb in the Country”) are by one of my favorite authors, A.L.O.E. I just recently read “Exiles in Babylon”. I’m a collector of stories, whether they are in the published form or not, and that’s part of the reason I’m a writer.
Letter writing! Maybe I’m just old-fashioned, but I like myself a good, old, handwritten letter. I send out a letter a day, mostly. I’d say about twenty letters a month on average. That’s roughly 240 letters a year, which is $120 in stamps. And if on average, I write three pages for each letter, that would be 720 hand-written pages per year. Yep, my signature might be pretty, but I write it over 240 times a year, plus I also practice it. Did anyone say I’m obsessive? You said the truth. 🙂
I’ve really gotten into art the last month or so. I’ve been enjoying some pastel pencils someone gave me, and I’m super excited about trying oil! I’ve always been into charcoal, and my favorite thing to do is portraits. Now, I’m not saying I’m good at it…Just that I like it. There is a difference, you know. 😉
Writing. I enjoy writing more than I can say. I think everyone that follows this blog can tell that. Oh, and what do you think of the picture? I think it’s very dramatic, isn’t it? I think I like it better than all the other photos. (Or maybe it’s just because that hand lettering took some effort.)
Coffee. One of my absolute favorite things is coffee. It’s just so good, and tasty, and the bitterness is addicting. But, I don’t like it unless it’s black. Give me it strong and black. (Oh, someone from the army told me that they have instant coffee, and some guys wouldn’t bother making themselves a cup of Joe. Instead, they’d just pour the packet of instant coffee down their throat. Talk about gross! That’s almost as bad as drinking a raw egg.)
That, my friends, are seven of my favorite things. Can you relate to them?
I am nominating… (Let me think…)
(Man,why do their names all start with M?)(Anna! You stole all the good nominators!)
And there you have it folks. You need to stalk those fella’s blogs for the next few weeks and see if the post their favorite things. I know I’ll be stalking them. (Oh, wait, don’t stalk Madi. She only does tags once a year. 🙂
P.S. HAPPY NATIONAL COW DAY! *throws confetti* Don’t you all just love our cow friends? I’m going to celebrate by eating beef!
So, I know I posted yesterday, but as one of my commenters assured me, I don’t annoy y’all, so blogging everyday must make y’all happy! (And I’m off school this week and have a list of blogging things I NEED to do, so yeah. That’s life.)
Today I’m just rambling. And showing you pictures. And telling you what my life is like. It’s going to be a really random rambling, so you probably should buckle your seat belt tight, and hold on to the wheel. (Or, if you’re like me, ignore the seat belt, throw one of your arms out of the open window, and hit the gas!)
Let’s start off with my mom trying Siri out. I was on the way home from work.
Apparently Illinois gets three cheers, no? Don’t we all love Siri? Lol, the adventures I’ve had with that thing.
Since we’re all ready talking about my mom, I’ll throw her in again. I recently did a post with my photography here, and my mom asked me why I didn’t put her portrait in. I think she was a little offended she wasn’t put in her famous daughter’s post. Anyway, without further ado, my mom!
Guess I had to get my craziness from somewhere. 😉
I’ve been giving my younger sister some photography lessons, and she’s gotten so much better! It’s funny to see her trying to figure it all out, and she’s always thrilled when she’s found a new trick out.
The other night when I was writing my book, she wanted to take some pictures of me. I told her the camera was all hers, as long as she didn’t disturb me. And, for your own gratification, here’s a snip-it of something I wrote.
“As you say,” Jonathan sighed; regardless, he dropped the backpack.
“Smile!” Cassy started pressing the button on her camera, and Jonathan looked straight at the shutter.
“This isn’t what I’d call a grand vacation,” Jonathan muttered through clenched teeth. “This is more like torture.”
Haha, Jonathan. Get used to it. Having a photographer in the family is both torture and a blessing. You get your Christmas photos taken for free!
Well, we’ve had a lot of flowers blooming in our yard. Wanna take a look? Sorry, I’m not giving you a choice.
Can you see that little spider? Isn’t he cute?
Don’t you just love this flower? I do. It’s just so…So pink.
Do you like flowers? Which flower picture was your favorite?
Okay, so we have a huge garden. 3,000 sq. feet to be exact, and we’re growing corn, cucumbers, melons, squash (both summer and winter) tomatoes, beans, and…Um? Is that it? I think it is. Hmm, I might remember something in a bit. Anyway, it’s been a lot of work, and I’m starting to wonder what Adam and Eve were thinking when they took a bite of that fruit.
I’ve claimed the corn as “my” corn, and so I’ve been weeding it. We have roughly three rows, and a few scattered here and there. (Lots of seeds dropped out of people’s pockets.) Sadly, we had a bad gale and our method of keeping away weeds (A.K.A. cardboard boxes) cut down three-four stalks of my corn. I felt like having a funeral for them.
Since y’all know I can talk forever, I’m just hurrying to the actual pictures.
The corn a few weeks ago. It’s been growing like crazy, and we even have a few husks! I’m so excited! *does happy dance*
A baby husk. Isn’t it so photogenic? I’m in love with my corn, and I’m so proud of it! Keep growing, little guys! (And gals…I don’t suppose they have a gender. 🤔)
Corn flowers and fluffy clouds. 🙂
Here’s one of the melons. I’m such a good photographer, that I made it look twice it’s size. It’s actually rather small. (Here’s a small hint. Put your melons on cardboard. Otherwise, they’ll rot. We had quite a few rotten melons last year.)
Anyone love acorn squash? I think I’ll mail it to you if you do. We’re gonna have a ton. 😬
Our tomatoes are really sad looking, but they do have some fruit!
We went to a nature preserve, and they had go-cart golf-cart type things, and I got to drive. I was so excited, but I brought a few screams from my mom. Hehe, but I wasn’t as bad as my brother. He had the little girls screaming bloody murder. My poor ears. Anyway, while we were there, I got pictures of this fella.
Don’t know if you can see him in that picture, but I hope you can!
He was a little baby, and he couldn’t fly much yet. He was so cute!
There was also a wood chapel. Sadly, most of my pictures didn’t turn out because it was just about to pour, and the lighting was horrid.
That was the doorway inside. The bell that you could ring was so loud! My ears were throbbing and I’m afraid to say I was a little closer to tears than I’d like to admit. Who could stand such a deafeningly loud, earth-quakingly alarming sound?
My family would’t get out of the way. 😕
What d’ye say, lass…Or lad. Whichever you maybe. Do ye like it? I ken ye do.
And, since I think you’ll like this, I’ll through in some of my favorite blog posts at the moment.
Library Trip, Reading Program, and a (cool?) Video–A Storynerd’s Life
Go check out those blogs!
Lastly and probably most importantly, my siblings and I decided to put on a production. I mean, we’re already planning a few more after this, but this was a starting point, you know?
I was supposed to be the newsboy person, and Jay, my brother (also known as Bilbo,) was supposed to be an old man. Jay fell flat because the store didn’t have white dye or a fake beard. (We tried to “dye” his hair by using flour and hairspray. Hey, it worked *sorta*) Anyway, I had a bit of difficulty getting my long, thick hair taken care of, but I was ingenious, and even surprised my sister.
But! My sister wasn’t satisfied. I was supposed to be a dirty ragamuffin with black hair, and dirty pants. So? I had to go dump a bucket of dirt on me. Not exactly, but I felt like an elephant was spraying dirt down my shirt. Needless to say, I was a walking dirt bag, as I later showed when I tried to take off the clothes.
After filming and my dirt job. My sister says I really looked like a boy, especially in the last scene. To her I must have a boy’s swagger???? LOL, y’all can decide. Here’s the video.
The music is not by me, though I’ve already been asked that. I honestly say I wish it was. But, it’s not. I’m not that good yet. Enjoy!
(Oh, and I had to dye my hair black with wash out dye, and it got everywhere…Just like the foundation. HELP! I’ve never done make-up before! Wait, brow liner and eye liner are different? Is that why the prices were different? I think I need a supervisor. 😳 Is eye liner easier to apply? If so, it might be worth the extra money. #cheap)
And that, m’dears, is the end of my rambling. I’m surprised if you stuck with me. If you did, here’s a high five that somehow made it through the screen??? Anyway, I hope you enjoyed it!
What was your favorite photo? Do you enjoy a nice long ramble? Do you like to drink hot drinks in hot weather?
Hello! Today you are privileged to be shown a few examples of my photography. Honestly, I don’t think I’m that good, but I enjoy it and that keeps me snapping pictures. We went to a local farm the other day to pick blueberries, blackberries, and peaches. We had a lot of fun, but I think I took more pictures than picked berries, and of course, the berries I picked were placed into my mouth. 😉 I did pick peaches, but that was only because I was the only one tall enough to grab the biggest and ripest. I suppose being almost six foot does pay a bit. 😂 I can honestly say I’ve grown to love my height.
Anyway, let’s get started!
This beautiful Calla lily is blooming in our yard at the moment. I’m rather proud of this picture because I have an extremely hard time at taking pictures of bright colors, and this one turned out!
I love blueberries. Maybe as much as strawberries. I’m the person that eats a whole container of blueberries in two minutes. My family has to take the blueberries away from me if they want any, because blueberries are even better than coffee ice cream. I just love their taste. Who else is a blueberry lover? Who like blueberry crisp?
Me: One ripe blueberry. Just one…(Three hours later) I think I ate too many blueberries.
Me: I dunno. Three gallons of blueberries just doesn’t agree with my stomach.
What isn’t photogenic about a corn field? Nothing. There is nothing that isn’t photogenic about a corn field. It’s just like snow in that way. I love corn. I’ve grown up on corn every summer. It’s a staple in our summer diet, and I absolutely love it. I’m really hankering to eat it on the cob, but I guess braces don’t allow that.
This corn is taller than me! 😱 Did I tell you how much I love corn?
I love my daddy. He’s an amazing role model, and a fervent Christian. He always encourages me, wrestles with me, and tries to show me that I’m not quite able to win a thumb war with him yet. I love his farmer hat, and I love him. ❤
45% of the time I’m like this.
And I’m like this the other 45% of the time. The last 10% of the time I’m like this.
(I think I’m trying to stop my mom from taking this picture, but I’m not sure.)
I have an obsession with taking pictures of our flag. I suppose I’m a proud American gal. #proudamerican
To me, nothing is better than a peach from the state I live in. It’s just so good, and so perfect, and I’m a fan. The warm juice seeping into your mouth from a sun-warmed peach beats nothing. I sure hope there’s some peaches in heaven.
Thanks, Rose, for holding the peach! I just think this picture looks so cool, the shade and the sun, and everything about it. Plus, it’s a peach that I got to enjoy right afterwards. What could beat that?
Rose and her friend Sara wanted to have pictures together, so I grabbed my camera and took a few. I like this one. Rose’s red cheeks are so cute. 😝
This one wasn’t my favorite, but maybe that’s my own fault. I dunno. They both look cute, like usual! I wish I could rock cute like they both do.
This shows both of their personalities. Rose is more of an introvert, so she’s not going to have the huge demonstration of emotion. Sara, on the other hand, is very extroverted and fun loving. They’re both super sweet.
This picture shows the competitiveness of their relationship. They always fought over who was taller. For awhile it was Sara, but Rose recently got taller. I wonder who will end up the taller out of the two…🤔
Well, that about sums up this post, y’all.
Today is my birthday! And, since it’s my birthday, I have permission to post pictures of my past, along with some stories. Are you ready for a trip down memory lane?
My older brother and I have always been close. He was my leader, idol, and friend when we were younger, and now we compete a lot. At least, I compete with him. Now, I’m taller than him, and may I say prettier? But, Phil and I will forever be buddies, and I’m still counting on him to build me my house. (Plans were made when we were younger.)
One of our favorite games for years was to play in the laundry baskets. We even tried to ride them down our sixteen steps. Don’t I look like a happy camper?
I’ve always had problems with my eyelids. As a baby, my tear ducts would get plugged. Now, I often am plagued with a stye. Anyway, they never bring me down. Look at my smile. *heart melts* I wish I could meet baby me. We’d probably get along. 😉
Practicing my all important dinosaur roar. But, here’s the weird part…
I can strangely still make this face. Yikes. I don’t even look like the same person. Some major change has happened since I was seven months old. What do you say? Do I even look like the same kid? But my face…*rolls on the floor laughing*
To explain my dinosaur roar. My brother and I were major dinosaur fans, and we could name all the dinosaurs ever named. And, my brother often practiced his “Sue the T-rex” roar. I admired my older brother to no extent, so I had to roar too.
The second picture is me laughing at a donkey that was rolling in the dirt. I mean, it was kicking, and rolling, and he-hawing like crazy.
Who doesn’t think this one-year-old is cute? And my blue eyes? Awe! I was one of the cutest bald one-year-olds I’ve ever seen. But maybe I’m prejudiced. Anyway, I’m sure I had the best birthday any little kid ever had. If only I remembered it…
Skip a few years and I’m four! I just love this picture because it’s all me when I was little. I’m wearing what was my favorite shirt, carrying my sleeping buddy, and eating strawberries. I was really into My Little Ponies until I was nine or ten. It was my fandom. 😂
On this birthday, I was gifted with…My Little Ponies! Surprise! 😉 But, the funny thing was I took them into the bathroom (for some reason unknown to me now,) and accidentally dropped them into the toilet. I remember being SO embarrassed. When I was little, I was really sensitive and easily embarrassed. I hope I’ve grown out of that…
Ahh, when my love for performing first kicked off. I remember this. I dragged my mom up on stage, even though she insisted she didn’t want to get up. I was just so pumped to actually get to hold a REAL mic. It’s a good memory, that’s for sure. I even remember that that dress was scratchy, and I didn’t want to wear it.
But, I also remember that I couldn’t read, and I didn’t know the song. I was just singing “Ooh,” the whole time. 😬 I was probably way off tune.
Yep, now we move on to my next passion. Horses. This was my second? No, third time riding. It was a horse named Barnie, and he was probably fourteen hands? I don’t know exactly, but I’m pretty sure he was small. Okay, REALLY small.
I remember that they let me ride without much help, and the next time I rode, I was allowed to gallop. Oh, the joys of childhood!
My first trip without my parents. I was FURIOUS! My aunt took my brother and I to some desert in Utah to go canoeing, and I was expected to work. Oh, I was SO mad the whole trip. I did NOT bargain for this. And my very funny (🙄) uncle tried to cheer me up by throwing me into FREEZING mountain water.
But, all that said, I wish I could go back in time and tell little complainer me to plug my mouth. It really toughened me up, and changed my outlook on life. If I could go back, I’d have a fun time even if I had to drink bad tasting water, and it was hot, and I got sunburned, and I had to WORK during vacation.
A note to little me. I wasn’t that bad off, and as you can see in this picture, it didn’t curb my competitive spirit. I was definitely going to win rock ball.
Happy go lucky me. That’s who I’ll always be. Sitting by the pool, using my smile as a tool, to cheer me and you…(Do do da do…)
Okay, forgive my terrible try at a song. I hope you could hear the music with that. I am so cute here! And I look just like my little sister. Man, we could be identical twins. (Yikes! Poor girl, she’ll look just like me.)
This is how I’ll always remember myself. This was a Father Daughter Retreat my sister and I went on. I definitely have my own style. But look at my little sister. She’s SOOOO beautiful! And she still is. #proudsistermoment And Dad’s the same, adding a beard. That trip was so much fun, and I got to meet a lot of people. (I think I’m only still friends with one though…)
And later, we met people that were at the same retreat, and I remember seeing them. (Yes, I’m looking at you, Mandalynn.)
Here I am at my aunt’s again. I’ve always had this thing for strawberries, and I’m here to show my uncle who is actually the best domino player. (Everyone knows it’s obviously me, right?) Alas! If only my uncle didn’t use Rose to spy on us.
On vacation at Savanah, eating at Paula Dean’s restaurant. It had the BEST banana pudding I’ve ever had, y’all. But, the weather was so cold, and I only brought a rain jacket. Why does it always happen to me that I go on vacation when it’s freezing, and only bring light coats? I don’t know, maybe it’s because I always go on vacation during spring when it’s supposed to be WARM.
Hmm, that’s an idea.
With my aunt again. We went to Yellow Stone National Park, and decided to go to a rodeo. Guys, I’m hooked. Seriously. This cowboy was the winner of the bull riding, so we had to get a picture. My little sister at first totally refused to stand next to a sweaty man she didn’t even know, but my aunt somehow got her in the picture.
*Sigh* I’m dreaming about riding in a rodeo. Hah, only in my dreams though. Hey, anyone want to sponsor a hopeful rider? No? Oh, okay. 😦
I reached the double digits! Yeah me! And can you believe it? I’m strawberry picking again. 😂 Yes, I really do love strawberries. Strawberries, pickles, coffee, and sour cream are some of my favorites. And, of course, beef!
I was so proud because I had jut gotten my ears pierced. I think my holes have closed since then. Earrings are SOOOO bothersome. If you’re considering piercing your ears, DO NOT DO IT! Please, just spare yourself the cost of money. It’s a bad idea, and for what? So you can spend more money on jewelry? Blah, jewelry just isn’t my thing. Anyway, next picture!
Ah, I had picked up the guitar by this time. Wasn’t I cute? Hmm, I’m judging I was only 5’8″ here. Ah, those nice days of being short. Anyway, I was taking this picture for a pen-pal. It’s a pretty nice picture of me, considering I’m not goofing off. I’m known for some pretty strange pictures.
What else about this picture? I can’t think of anything interesting that happened this day. Was this the day we went out to eat? I’m not sure….Next pic!
All you pen-pals remember this picture of me. My aunt decided she needed pictures of us in her house, so she hosted a huge photo shoot. Before this picture, we argued about cutting my hair, and she won.
At least 2″ fell off, and she brushed, and combed, and finally proclaimed me “fine.” This was her least favorite picture of me, but her favorite was after I had done a hair-flip, and I looked…Uh, terrible? SO, this was my favorite, and since this is my blog, it’s a-going up there. *sigh* I still miss that hair I cut off. But, my hair’s longer now than it was before that hair cut.
The latest picture of me! So, now you know I was the cutest baby on the block, and I purposefully skipped toddler age because I was the ugliest kid on the block. You saw how I changed from blue-eyed, strawberry blonde to browny-hazel eyes and dark hair. Yep, the only thing that I’m told hasn’t changed is my face. I doubt my face will ever change much.
Here I sit, Amie just one year older. 😉
Sometimes it’s hard to believe how fast time flies. I was looking at old posts I’ve done, and realizing how much I’ve grown in blogging. Some posts feel like I posted them yesterday…But that was in January. Yikes! Guys, only twenty-two more days until we’re half way through 2018! It’s unbelievable.
Anyway, on to my actual blog post. I was trying to decide what to post, and I decided on a lifestyle post. I haven’t been cooking up any sermons lately. I think they only come when I have to write an article for some magazines. 😂 Also, I was thinking about a few other posts, but they needed some pictures and stuff taken, and I’m seriously booked the rest of the week. No time for pictures, sorry!
You know, I think that’s the longest intro I’ve ever done. Can we just stop to admire it? Why are beginnings always so hard? Anyway, on Monday we went strawberry picking. I’ve been going strawberry picking every year since I was born. My mom would haul me and my brother out to the strawberry field and do most of the picking herself. Thankfully, we’ve gotten old enough to help her.
Doesn’t that red ripe strawberry make you super hungry? It’s sun-warmed, hand-picked, and absolutely DELISH! I think I ate more strawberries than I picked. Hmm? Without washing them? Well, I have this philosophy that I was created from dirt, and to dirt I will return, so why not consume a bit of dirt?
Look at the little guy. Isn’t he cute, all nestled in his home of green leaves? Well, your comfort has ended. Now, you, little strawberry, are to fuel my belly! MWAHAHAHA! (note: I’m not that violent….)
My mom picked the best ever strawberry, gave it to me, and decided to take a picture of me. (And yes, it was delicious!). God sure knew what He was doing when he made berries.
Well, maybe not the plants. You have to reach so low to grab the fruit! But, hey, I’m not complaining. That work only makes the berry taste better. (And you hungrier.) Work was made with a purpose, and I’m going to do mine with a purpose.
Ah, the bucket of beautiful berries! I was so ready to eat them by the time I was done picking. Actually, I never wanted to leave the fields. All those berries! Anyway, we still have a few in the refrigerator. Maybe I should go eat them…
Anyway, against my better judgement, my mom insisted on making a strawberry cobbler. *sigh* I guess I’m not the only person that matters in this house. But! Last night we had strawberry sauce and vanilla ice cream. Now we’re talking good.
Hello! Today I’m typing from my overly crowded desk. Yikes, I really need to clean it up…But I do have an excuse! Thank you all who entered my writing contest. I’m really enjoying your stories, even though I haven’t read them all. I’m announcing one of the judges besides myself. (Okay, the only judge besides myself.)
My brother Phil! To be honest, I’ll be super surprised if we even agree on the winner. I have a feeling we might compromise on the winner. I’m the writer, he’s the reader. I’ll judge the grammar, the plot, and how the story flows. He’ll judge…What he likes. 😂
So, y’all should be happy that you don’t have just me. I’ll just pick your stories to death. He’ll probably fly through them and place his favorite in my hand. We’ll see.
Next random thing! Today, we went shopping, and I finally convinced my younger sister, Rose, to play this game with me. Honestly, I hate shopping, but when you do it this way, it’s fun. The rules are simple. Find a modest, crazy outfit and make your sibling try it on. I think I won (I picked for Rose), and I’ll tell you the reason in a bit.
For Rose’s outfit, I chose an adorable peachy-lacy dress, and paired it with a cream scarf. To finish it off, I picked out the highest cream high-heels I could find. Isn’t she rocking it?
Sadly, my outfit that Rose picked out for me kinda…Went flat and we didn’t take a picture of it. Trust me, it didn’t fit.
Let me explain this outfit. My younger sister loves yellow…and anything bright. I’m more for grey and dark colors, but she wants to make you squint. I chose a yellow dress with a white lace overlay. Since it was a sundress, it need something to make it modest. I chose this lovely button up. To finish the stunning look, I chose some ADORABLE! booties. Seriously, they were cute. (Isn’t Rose the cutest model?)
*Coughs* Okay, so this dress was interesting. I was trying to balance on these 3 inch heels my sister made me where. Okay, so I find being 6′ 3″ is NOT fun. You should have seen me next to my dad. 🤣 Anyway, now to tell you about the outfit.
The dress is a lovely velvet with a see-through top. I paired it with a turtle neck tee-shirt, and to finish the very different look, I had on a pair of beige (killer) heels.
A fun fact about me is that I can’t walk in heels, and don’t see the point. My sister couldn’t stop laughing at how I stumbled out of the dressing room. I’m tall enough without heels, okay?
Now for some photography! I’ve been taking pictures of my rabbit, and of some flowers.
Look at little Peter rabbit! I found a doll vest that fit Snowball perfectly. He isn’t a fan of it, but he puts up with it for my sake. Isn’t he the cutest?
“Save me from this awful vest! Please! Have mercy on me!”–Snowball
Isn’t it a beautiful flower? It’s in our backyard, and I’m kinda sad more people can’t see it. It’s on a rather small bush instead of a vine. Somehow the vine became a bush? I’m not exactly sure, but it’s still pretty.
To be truthful, I’m obsessed with water droplets. They’re just so pretty and delicate, and they reflect the prettiest things. 😍 Truly, I’d only take pictures of water droplets if I could.
The roses are blooming! I actually don’t like roses, unless they’re these vibrant ones. I’m proud of this picture. 😉
All right! That seems to be it for today. Sorry for the rather random post, but that’s how we roll here at Crazy A. Stay tuned for Saturday when we announce the winner!
