6 Ways to Grow Blog Traffic

Image 12-6-18 at 1.30 PM

Being sick is terrible.  I should know, because I’m sick now.  Since I am sick, it took me a while to figure out what to blog on today.  I have a whole book full of blog post ideas that I want to do in the future…But they all take research and/or photos and time.

And guess what?  I’ve been sick.  And I don’t want to blog at all.  *sniffs and coughs* Here, let me put on a mask to keep from coughing on you.  There, wow.  These things are super uncomfortable.  I think we need to come up with more comfortable papery mask things.  *blinks*   So, stand back (so I don’t cough on you) and stay put.  Today’s post is about different ways to get views.  (Also, excuse my voice…Or the lack of.  The cold’s settled in my chest.)

Image 12-6-18 at 1.30 PM

1. Don’t use one word titles.

Please don’t do what I do, and call your post pictures.  Just don’t.  Also, don’t name the post, “Wildflowers in the hollow with extra green grass photography!”  No one’s going to search wildflowers in hollow green grass photography.  Titles are what’ll pull you up in the search engine, and because of that, you’ll get more blog traffic.  This idea is pretty simple.  Come up with unique, and yet at the same time normal titles to bring traffic.

I’m terrible at this, but I have a few posts that I succeeded on.  (And they also get the most spam comments, LOL.) As an example, take A Voice for the Voiceless.  People find it though searching things like, “how to be a voice for the voiceless.”  You want to have posts that come up when people search.

2. Post regularly

This is so important.  Obviously, it won’t work for everyone, but if you’re serious about having people stick around and having your followers/views continue to climb, you’re probably going to have to have a schedule and keep to it.  (Of course, illness or accidents are worthy reason to skip a day.) My schedule is to post on Tuesday and Saturday, and I try to do everything I can to post on those days.

You could only post once a week on Saturday, or you could post three times a week, every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.  It’s totally up to you because there’s no wrong schedule, but having a schedule and keeping to it is important.  Even though most people don’t think about it this way, but keeping a schedule shows…

  • That blogging is important to you.

By doing something consistently, it shows that it matters, and it’s not something you do because you though it might maybe be a fun or good idea.

  • Your followers are important to you.

When you blog, you blog for an audience.  Not just for yourself, or because your mom said you had to.  You blog for the people who are going to read it, and when you blog regularly it shows you really care for them, and you want to connect with them.

  • You’re able to schedule your time.

Social media (and blogging!) is all about how you convey yourself through the screen.  If you want to continue in the future a blogging/writing/something kind of career, being able to meet your own deadline will show that you’re consistent and scheduled.

Overall, scheduling your blog will be one of the ways to make it successful.  (Of course, there are always exceptions to this, though don’t start this post thinking you are the exception.)

3. Use tags!

How much can I stress this?  Tags are your ticket to invite people to look at your post.  What do I mean by that?  People on WordPress often type in tags, like gluten-free breakfast, when they want to look at that certain type of post.  Searching tags brings up not only posts, but also websites that use those tags.

Tags are super important.  I’ve gotten a lot of traffic for using certain tags, and so I encourage you to take full use of the wonderful opportunity tags present you.  (But don’t get too carried away…I usually use 3-8 tags per post.)

4. Get involved in collabs or blog tours

Collabs were a huge thing that boosted my blogging.  If you’re new to the blogging world (like I was about a year ago), you’re probably wondering what a collab is.  Collab is short for collaboration. (Because in this day and age we have to shorten everything, y’all.) A collab is when two bloggers come together, and decided to switch blogs, or interview each other, or do similar blog posts, and talk about each other on them.  I’ve done a few, like Five Writing Ideas.

Most people enjoy collabing with other bloggers, and so if you want to do a collab, feel free to contact me on my contact page.  Collabing is always so much fun, and a great way to make new friends.

A blog tour is kinda of like a collab, but with A LOT more people.  I just hosted a blog tour, and because I’m an extrovert and think that the more people, the merrier life is, I enjoy blog tours more than collabs.  Blog tours are sometimes for launching a new book, (like mine.  You can read more about my book here. #shamelessselfpromo) or they can be a “blog party,” and like normal parties, you don’t really need a reason.  Blog tours are superb ways for people to find out about your blog.

5. Comment on other people’s blogs

If someone sees you on a blog they really like, and you’re saying how much you like the same thing, they might just click your profile to go to your blog.  (Also, it helps to have a horse/guitar/or something like that in your profile.  I’ve had people click my profile just because I had a guitar in it. 😉 😛 )

Of course, I don’t mean you have to comment on every single post you read.  In fact, that’s not what I mean at all.  And I don’t mean you’re supposed to comment on a post saying how much you liked it, when you really didn’t care/relate to what the blogger was talking about.  I mean, be you, comment on the posts that really hit home, and just let what happens happen.  But don’t be afraid to get out there on the blogsphere and comment.

(Also, I’ve also had new bloggers comment on my blog saying something like this, “Hey, I’m so-and-so, and I just started a new blog, and I’m sure you’ll like it!  Here’s the link.” Not saying that that is a terrible way to introduce yourself, but it sounds like you’re just concerned about your blog, which can be annoying to a blogger who just put their heart and soul into their blog post, and your answer to their post is to simply leave a shameless self promo.  I’m actually less likely to go visit your blog when you do that.)

(BONUS!) 6. Post on lots of different topics

I’m assuming you just started your blog, and if you’re anything like me, you have no idea what you just got yourself into.  I started blogging, and I thought, “hey, if I get just 25 subscribers, I’ll be amazing.  And 50, WOW.” I didn’t know what I wanted to write about, who I wanted to reach, or what style I was going for.  And so?  I just was me, and I’ve tried everything from baking to book reviews on this blog.

And you know what?  That’s what I like about my blog.  You never know what I’m going to post next, and that’s part of my trademark.  I’m the Crazy A, and I’m going to do crazy things on here.  But that’s probably not you, and I don’t expect that, but it is a good way to start.  What are your top three interests?  Bring them to play in your blog, and decide what fits for you.

I’m going to wrap up with this.  Blogging is about finding the right audience, and focusing on them.  You’re there for your audience, and so don’t worry about the million+ people in an audience over there.  Worry about your 50+ subscribers, and focus on reaching them.

Blogging is meant to be fun. (Most of the time…) So make it fun, make it so you’re giving your subscribers something, and just be yourself.  If that means neon pink blog design, and sparkly pink glitter, go for it.  I’m sure you’ll rock it. 😉

What are some things you like about blogging?  Do you have any questions?  Or do you have any tips on blogging?

Anna’s New Book

To begin my post today, I have the most exciting news ever.  My friend,  Anna is going to be releasing her fourth book very soon!  I’m so excited, and she has successfully kept it very secret about the book.  She describes it this way…

“Everyone needs a good book at any time of the year.  This short story collection is an enjoyable read with lovely, God-centered stories of hope and faith.”

A Place to Belong: Short Story Collection sounds like it will be an AMAZING book.  I haven’t read it yet, but I have read her other books, and they’re splendid.  The book will be 76 pages, 5×8 size.   She hasn’t published it as of yet, so stay turned for updates when it is available on Amazon at Anna’s blog, Annie Writes.”

And, to make this post a little more fun, I’m doing a book tag Kendra Lynn tagged me for!  I don’t think it has a name, or rules, so I’ll just jump in.

1. how many books are too many books in a book series?

Darling, there’s no such thing as too many books in a serious.  Is there such a thing as too many kids in a family?  I thought not.  At least, that’s my opinion.  The more the merrier, aye?

2. how do you feel about cliffhangers?

Best friends in writing and reading, honestly.  I love cliffhangers, and my mom says I over use them, only because she doesn’t like them.  I think that’s because she doesn’t have time to read a book straight through, and so she wants a good place to set the book down.

3. hardback or paperback?

Some of the best books are paperback, but that doesn’t mean they don’t need to become hardback, like immediately!

4. favorite book?

The Wide Wide World by Susan Warner.  Her sister wrote Jesus Loves Me, and Susan writes characters that are lovable, relatable, and…How do I describe this?  You have some characters that experience things that make you know they aren’t real, but Susan Warner’s characters are real, and they experience things that I can relate to.

5. least favorite book?

*Glowers* I’m an all or nothing person, so I either LOVE a book, or HATE a book.  Ugh, I hate G. A. Henty’s books to such an extent that I can’t even finish them.  I also respect Tolkien, but I can’t like his books.  But, one person’s book I read, she had the most compelling writing voice, but I didn’t agree with the characters, and it made me so mad.  But she was an artist of a writer.

6. love triangles, yes or no?

No comprendo, amigo.  So…

7. the most recent book you just couldn’t finish?

Umm…I always finish books, pretty much.  I have a strange hope that they’ll get better as they go on.  Too optimistic, I guess. 😛

8. a book you’re currently reading?

October.  I don’t even know who it’s by.  I just bought it from the big Black Friday-Cyber Monday sale.  Seems pretty good…But I haven’t read much of it.  My iPad died before I got but a few pages into it. XD

9. last book you recommended to someone?

Goodness!  I don’t know.  Probably the last book I read. XD I think it was one of George MacDonald’s books, since they’re SOOOOOOO good.  *sighs happily* I shouldn’t get started on this, or I’ll never end, LOL!

10. oldest book you’ve read? (publication date)

I’m pretty sure 1699 was the oldest book I’ve read.  Believe me, it’s duller than dull.  *sigh* But I may be wrong…

11. newest book you’ve read? (publication date)

Hmm, probably Beyond Her Calling by Kellyn Roth.  I read it before it was even published, LOL.  It’s so good.  😀

12. favorite author?

Well…George MacDonald, L.M. Montgomery, Louisa May Alcott, E.D.E.N. Southworth, C.R. Hedgcock, Parker Hankins, um…That’s all I can think of.  OH!  I also love Kate Willis’ books and Maddie Tucker’s writing.  (Note: Two of those authors aren’t published yet.)

13. buying books or borrowing books?

Books and music related items are about all I buy, but I can’t afford to buy all the books I read.  My mom thinks I buy too many books as it is, but as long as they all stay in my room…Well, they’re staying. 😉  So, probably borrowing books, because I do that more.

14. a book you dislike that everyone else seems to love?

I don’t like Harry Potter, or Jane Austen, and those are really popular, so…*shrugs*

15. bookmarks or dog-ears?

neither, actually.  I have a semi photographic memory, and so I just have to look at the page number once, and I’ll remember it.

16. a book you can always reread?

I reread most of my books, actually.  I’m the kind of person that finds something new every time.  (Probably because I read too fast, LOL.)

17. can you read while hearing music?

I can read while listening to music, while you’re talking to me, during a party, in the car…My reading talents can be used in any environment.  (I take that back.  It’s really hard for me to read outside, because I get distracted.)

18. one POV or multiple POVs?

I love multiple POVs, but if there’s too many, I can’t focus.  I think the more the merrier, though.  It gives stories a different twist, and sometimes helps the reader to understand better what’s going on.

19. do you read a book in one sitting or over multiple days?

As I’ve had more and more to do in my life, reading a book in one sitting is only for sick days.  (Or days I need a creativity boost.) So, I usually take two to three days to read a book.  Unless it’s short.

20. who do you tag?

Best question yet.  I have a few bookish people I thought about tagging, but I’m going to leave it up to the reader.  Do you want to do this tag???

And now, that that’s over, go check out Anna’s blog, and wait for her announcement. 😀

My Favorite Kinds of Things

Did you guess what today’s post is about?  If you guess my favorite things, you’re right!  Here are the rules.

Thank and link back to the persons blog who tagged you!

Ahem, sorry.  I forgot my manners.  Anna, thank you so much for tagging me!  It was very kind of you.  ❤

♥ Thank and link back to the persons blog who started the tag! (Beth in Boots)
♥ Write about seven of your favorite things in your post!  (add at least one picture of everything!)
♥ Tag seven  people at least! ( If you don’t know seven blogs to tag just tag as many as you can)
♥ Put the seven rules in your blog post!
♥ Include the picture above for the beginning of your post!
♥ Have fun!!!

My favorite things are…

All right!  So, here we go!  (In the order I thought of them.  Please realize they might not be  in the order of my favorite, but it’s just some of them.)

My instruments!  (Sorry, I was not about to drag my piano outside.) For those of you who don’t know instruments, there is a guitar, a violin, and a banjo pictured above.  Comment below if you play any of them! This also includes all music.  I got distracted while I was taking this photo shoot, and just sat there and played violin for a few minutes.

Western apparel and horses.

I couldn’t add a horse, since my horse photos are a little outdated, but this was as close as I got.  Anyone love anything horse related?  Picture above are my Sunday boots (That’s why they’re clean), my cowgirl hat, and my boho tie.  I wish I could have pictured more, but I kinda felt it would loose it’s photogenic qualities, if you know what I mean.  Maybe you don’t.  Either way, those are some of my favorite things!

Books and reading.

Books!  Who doesn’t like books?  I just realized that one of the books are upside down.  Oops.  I guess that photo was a photography fail. 😬  But these books (with the exception of “Caleb in the Country”) are by one of my favorite authors, A.L.O.E.  I just recently read “Exiles in Babylon”.  I’m a collector of stories, whether they are in the published form or not, and that’s part of the reason I’m a writer.

Sending and receiving letters/pen-pals.

Letter writing!  Maybe I’m just old-fashioned, but I like myself a good, old, handwritten letter.  I send out a letter a day, mostly.  I’d say about twenty letters a month on average.  That’s roughly 240 letters a year, which is $120 in stamps.  And if on average, I write three pages for each letter, that would be 720 hand-written pages per year.  Yep, my signature might be pretty, but I write it over 240 times a year, plus I also practice it.  Did anyone say I’m obsessive?  You said the truth.  🙂

I’ve really gotten into art the last month or so.  I’ve been enjoying some pastel pencils someone gave me, and I’m super excited about trying oil!  I’ve always been into charcoal, and my favorite thing to do is portraits.  Now, I’m not saying I’m good at it…Just that I like it. There is a difference, you know. 😉

Writing.  I enjoy writing more than I can say.  I think everyone that follows this blog can tell that.  Oh, and what do you think of the picture?  I think it’s very dramatic, isn’t it?  I think I like it better than all the other photos.  (Or maybe it’s just because that hand lettering took some effort.)

Hot drinks.

Coffee.  One of my absolute favorite things is coffee.  It’s just so good, and tasty, and the bitterness is addicting.  But, I don’t like it unless it’s black.  Give me it strong and black.  (Oh, someone from the army told me that they have instant coffee, and some guys wouldn’t bother making themselves a cup of Joe.  Instead, they’d just pour the packet of instant coffee down their throat.  Talk about gross!  That’s almost as bad as drinking a raw egg.)

That, my friends, are seven of my favorite things.  Can you relate to them?

I am nominating… (Let me think…)

(Man,why do their names all start with M?)(Anna!  You stole all the good nominators!)

And there you have it folks.  You need to stalk those fella’s blogs for the next few weeks and see if the post their favorite things.  I know I’ll be stalking them.  (Oh, wait, don’t stalk Madi.  She only does tags once a year.  🙂

What are some of your favorite things?  What is your favorite art medium?  Do you enjoy horses?

P.S. HAPPY NATIONAL COW DAY!  *throws confetti* Don’t you all just love our cow friends?  I’m going to celebrate by eating beef!

Eclipse Tag

Edit: The next part of LLIL is out.  Check it out here!

And welcome to another issue of Amie’s been tagged.  Last time, I’ll remind you, that Amie was extremely energetic with AWS, and it was a Liebster Award.  Today, it has something to do with eclipses, and yet it does not.  Please help me welcome the tagged…

Howdy, y’all, and I hope you’re having a wonderful day today.  Apparently I’m either not very fast, or I’m very easy to tag, since I have been tagged twice for the same tag.  (Wow, this tag is really going around the blogging sphere.)

First, I was tagged by Liberty!  (You’ve got to admit she has an amazing name.)  Thanks so much, Liberty!  I’m sorry it’s taken me so long to finally do it.  😂 #naturalprocrastinator

Second I was tagged by Rosie!  Thanks so much, Rosie, for thinking of me.  I am truly honored.  🙂

So, first I will state the rules, and then I will answer Liberty’s questions.  Ready for the rules?

  1. Thank the person who nominated you for this tag and link to their blog. (Check!)

2. List the rules so the next nominees will know them. (This can be at the beginning or end of your post)

3. Include the ‘Eclipse’ image somewhere in your post (Mm hmm.)

4. Answer the 3 questions, and ask 3 questions for the people you tag to answer.

5. Nominate 3 people, and make sure they find out that they have been nominated.

  1. What do you think of coffee?

What do I think of coffee?  Well, I call it my inspiration brew.  I brew myself a cup, light a candle, and start typing on my laptop.  (I work best in the dark too.)  I really enjoy the taste of coffee.  Folks tell me I make coffee strong enough to make the Army look weak.  (And there are some other comments from the old guys that tease, but we’ll leave those out.)

2. Why did you start a blog?

Because one day a random thought came to me.  “What if I started a blog?”  And being the impetuous person I am, I started one two hours later without even asking my mom.  I didn’t work on for a few days though because I thought it sounded safe to ask my parents if they were okay with me blogging.

3. What do you think of dark chocolate(dark guys. Dark)?

Blah.  I really do not like chocolate, and I don’t understand chocolate cravings.  I crave pickles.  Sour pickles, and sour cream.  And sometimes potatoes.  But I never crave coffee or chocolate.  What is so good about chocolate anyway?

Random Life Break

It’s been raining a lot here, so my mom came up with the best idea how to celebrate Memorial Day.  I had already celebrated it Saturday by wandering around a graveyard, and reading all the veteran’s gravestones.  (Wonderful recreation, by the way). My mom decided that we would have an uno tournament.  I thought it was a great idea…Until I started Beta reading.  If I like a book, I’m not about to put it down.  First, I played my younger sister.  Rose and I had it intense.  I almost won two times, but she pulled out a draw two or a wild draw four.

Finally, I outsmarted her, and won.  Smugly, I returned to my Beta reading.  I read and read and read, and I wish I was reading now.  Anyway, I played my older brother after dinner, and beat him pretty easily.  Then, it was my dad.  For some reason we’re both really competitive, so it was funny to see that we both got to the last round.

When I picked up my hand, I could have laughed.  It was only me and my dad playing, so if you play a reverse, you get another turn.  I had two reverses, two wilds, a draw two, and two plain cards.  Let’s just say I won in three minutes.  (My dad played a small trick that made the game longer than thirty seconds.)

Yay!  I won the prize, which was an audio drama I’ve been wanting really bad.  Escape From the Eagle’s Nest is so good!  We listened to it last night.  We have the book, but maybe the audio drama is a bit better.  If you ever listen to it, you’ll understand when I start saying, “Dennis, adventurer, explorer, and Irishman!”

Anyway, back to playing tag…

  1. Boots or flip-flops? Why?

What do we say to this?  Um??? Okay, considering I have five pairs of boots and no flip-flops, I think that gives the answer.  Why?  Have you ever walked into cow pies wearing flip-flops?  No?  Well, that’s good because it is not pleasant.  Also I have cold feet, so I like socks. (Note: I’ve only ever walked in cow patties wearing flip-flops once.) (But maybe I’ve walked in cow patties more than once…)

2. What was the last board or card game you played? And with whom?

Uh.  *cough*  I really don’t know.  Maybe it was Axes and Allies with my brother and our pastor.  Or it was High Ho Cherry-o with my two little sisters.

It was Uno with my sister, brother, and dad.  (I’M THE VICTOR!!!!)

3. What is your birthday Proverb? (To find your birthday Proverb, go to the book of Proverbs and for the month you were born in, go to that chapter, and for the day you were born go to that verse. )

“And thou mourn at the last, when thy flesh and thy body are consumed.”  Oh, I have a terrible birthday proverb.  😳  Should I be concerned?  Or is it just a coincidence?  I’m feeling rather concerned at the moment.  (Will I always be mourning?  And my flesh and body are going to be consumed?)

Just so you nominees know, I will not ask what your birthday Proverb is.

~~Questions for Nominees~~

  1. What is the saddest time in history?
  2. Water, milk, coffee, or tea?
  3. Life without music, or life without books?  (Choose wisely.)

All right!  Hope you enjoyed this rather insane post!

The New Blogger Tag

Hello and welcome back to my blog.  I was glad/surprise when I saw that Liz had nominated me for a tag she made up herself.  I feel so privileged!  Thank you so much, Liz!

Okay, like usual, we have the rules…

  1.  Supply a link to the blog of the person who nominated you (Did that!)
  2. Make sure to display the picture that says “The New Blogger Tag/Award,” and copy the rules into your post (Noooo!  I totally didn’t do that.)
  3. You must tell why you decided to start a blog (Okay, I’ll do that.)
  4. Make up 5 questions for your nominees to answer (Oh no!)
  5. Answer the 5 questions that the person who nominated you gave you (That’s easy!)
  6. All nominees blog’s must be 1 year or younger (sorry people whose blogs are older than one year) This is gonna be hard
  7. Last but not least nominate 4 blogs (again all one year or under) and contact them of their nomination (All right…)

Why did I start my blog?

Surprisingly, I don’t think I’ve ever answered this question.  Why did I start it?  Well, I blogged at my family’s blog with my mom and other sister.  When I wanted to add my craziness and writing, my mom said no.  Therefore, I thought of different ways to convince my parents I needed my own blog.

I was shocked when all I had to do was ask.  No begging.  No getting on my knees.  I immediately was like, “Hey, this was easier than I thought!”  Crazy A was born later that night.  Or maybe it was the next day?  I had everything planned before I asked. (Can I be congratulated on efficiency?)

Questions for my victims nominees.

  1. How do you eat a grapefruit?
  2. What is one song you just cannot stand?
  3. If you were lost in a blizzard, what would you do?
  4. What do you think of vultures?
  5. If you had a choice of potato chips and corn chips, which would you chose?

Answers of questions…

  1. When’s your Birthday?

That’s classified information.  (hint: You’ll now when it comes around.)

2. Favorite type of candy?

Hmm, not sure.  Perhaps Twizzlers, or maybe Reese’s.  I don’t know.  I really don’t like sugar.

3. Do you have any pets?

Yes!  A bunny!  You didn’t know?  Okay, here’s a picture of him ❤

4. What are your hobbies?

Hobbies?  Sitting around, doing nothing…At least it looks like nothing.  Really I have fifty different ideas taking shape in the form of a book, that adds to exercising my fingers on a keyboard.  To be serious, anything you can think of is my hobby.  Well, with the exception of sports.

5. Do you enjoy blogging?

No….Of course not.  (Hint: There was very strong sarcasm in the last sentence.)

Ella Marie

Now for random life…

Yeah!  Finally!  I’ve done what need to be done so I can FINALLY announce something not very important.  My friend and I have been trying to figure out what personality type I am.  (Yes, I am a flip-flopping person that almost always stays extroverted :). We have finally decided I am…….

Yes, that means I try every kind of authority, I play with thousands of ideas, I hate not having my writing up to my standards.  It took me forever to figure out I was an ENFP, but as I did more research I found it was true.

Take, for instance, ENFPs often stress over deadlines, because they want their projects “perfect”.  While I don’t stress to an extreme, I do like my projects to be “perfect”.  One way stress shows itself in ENFPs, is that they don’t pay attention to when they are hungry, thirsty, tired…ect.

My probably worst virtue is that I don’t eat.  I just don’t want to if I’m in the middle of a project, book, or movie.  Then….I become a beast that you would all hate to meet.  So, some people say eating too much stands in the way of getting things done.  For me, it is quite the opposite.  I don’t eat, so then I can’t do anything.  Thankfully, I have learned to force myself to eat at certain times.  I know I must eat at three, because I’ll be on the verge of my beast-hood at six if I don’t.

I also learned (well, I knew it because that is ME) that ENFPs are bubbly and energetic, but they have a soberness inside of them that begs to be let out.  They also are good at engaging in small talk, though they become bored with it pretty fast.  (You should see me after talking to some people! 😂). That leads to them becoming reserved and they can be labeled “Introverts” by the people around them.  In order to release their thoughts and emotions, they can turn to writing or reading.

Unlike many Extroverts, ENFPs don’t need people.  They can very easily do stuff alone.  They also enjoy making people laugh (that doesn’t sound like me!) but aren’t afraid to stand for what they believe in.

And, to give you a last bit before you throw the computer down, ENFPs are found involved in music, reading, writing, enjoying music, and enjoying art.  I happen to do all of that.  (Ask my friends how much I gush about music!)

Okay, I know you’re tired of me.  I’m sorry, I got a bit carried away!

An Award or Tag?

In case you didn’t guess, yes, I was nominated for another tag.  *Silently sighs because I just did one*  What I don’t really understand why this is an award, and the other was a tag.  I mean, they’re practically the same except this has WAY TOO MANY NOMINATORS!  Well, I guess it would be nominees.  Anyhow, I won’t be doing that many.

Thank you so much, Kendra, for thinking of me!  It’s sweet of you ❤

The rules…

  • Thank the person who gave you this award. (done)
  • Include a link to their blog. (done)
  • Select 15 blogs/bloggers that you’ve recently discovered or follow regularly. (Um, I’m not even sure how many I’ll get.)
  • Nominate those 15 bloggers for the VBA. (Why isn’t this with the rule above?)
  • Finally, tell the person who nominated you 7 things about yourself. (NOOOO!)

So, without further delay (I’d delay all day…)

I can’t think of anyone!  I mean, everyone I nominated for the last tag.  If you want to do this, just comment down below.  Here are the facts.

I’m American

I like hamburgers

I am very tall

I don’t like wearing earrings

One of my favorite persons in history is Robert E. Lee

I also admire Thomas J. (Stonewall) Jackson

I laugh easily

Haha, seven things you probably didn’t know about me!

Well, you might have known I was American if you looked at my previous posts.  You also might have known I like hamburgers and I’m tall.  Those are things I refer to a lot.

All right, well, that’s over.  Did you enjoy it?  Nope?  Thought so.

So, I have a few things to say before I leave y’all.  The newest CRW is out.  If you don’t know what that is, check out the page up there ^^^^^ (See?  I’m finally smart enough to find the key that points up xD)

Also, check out my newest short story here.  It’s a random funny one that I came up with in the middle of Sunday school.  (I know, I wasn’t paying attention.)

Guys, it’s almost Christmas ! *Gasp*  Are y’all ready?

I’ve been tagged!

Hello guys!  So I know it’s not my scheduled day, but I need to do this and the other wasn’t really a post, just a shout-out.

Yep!  EnniMorgan nominated me for the Liebster award!  Thank you SOOOO much, Enni!

Here are the Rules:

1. Acknowledge the blog that gave it to you and display the award (Check!)

2. Answer the 11 questions that the blogger gives you (Uhh, hold on…)

3. Give 11 random facts about yourself (Why?  But I’ll try.)

4. Nominate 11 blogs (Yeah!! Can’t wait!)

5. Notify those blogs of their nomination (Uh, you’ll probably be my followers, so do I have to?)

6. Give them 11 questions to answer (Wahoo!)

  1. What’s your dream pet?

Uh, a horse, duh!  But a bunny and a dog are really close.

2. What’s your worst nightmare?

That’s hard.  I really wouldn’t know unless it happened.  But I really don’t want it to happen.  Wait, do you a real dream-nightmare or life reality nightmare????

Okay, my real worst dream-nightmare was when my brother and I were on the Mayflower going to America, and everyone on the ship had the Bubonic plague.  The worst part was our friend, the Captain’s son, had just gotten it and we were sure he and we would die.  Of course you know that if you’re exposed to the Bubonic plague, you’re almost 100% going to get it.

Actually, the screams of the dying people were the worst part.  Okay, yes, I’m a writer and a history buff in case you haven’t noticed, and I am a bit dramatic.  The screams were very real sounding and added with the gross looking people, it was horredious.  Okay, next question!!!

3. What thing you can unashamedly say that you HATE?

Um, this is hard.  Probably turkey, Thanksgiving dinner, hot chocolate, people who aren’t fan-folks (Yah know, they never ever gush over a book), people who don’t understand that characters in books ARE REAL! and that’s about it.  Oh, and people who are non-sensical.  You HAVE to be sensical to live.  Wait, is sensical even a word??

4. What’s one thing you can’t live without?

My Savior, my Bible, writing, coffee, and critics.  Okay, maybe I can live without critics, but then I wouldn’t know whether my books were good or bad.  I HAVE to know whether my books are good or bad.

5. What makes you sad?

When people don’t see that every life is precious.  EVERYONE IS PRECIOUS!!  Also, when people are just drifting without a cause for their lives.  Every life should have a cause they are willing to live and die for.

6. What makes you happy?

Hehehe! Get ready for a book!  My family, pen-pals, comments, blogging, reading a really good book, a horseback ride, nature, photography, writing, people enjoying what I write, coffee, beef, cows, dogs, bunnies, the smell of a farm, a warm summer afternoon, swimming, a chilly winter night by the fire, laughter, friends, my Savior, the Bible, licorice, 😉 Pinterest (Am I the only one???), and Christmas cards.  That’s all I can think of right now.  Probably writing articles too.  I love writing about my faith, experience, and life-story.  Maybe that’s just because I’m conceited.

Did you read every last thing there?  Good job!  I probably would have skimmed over it.  xD

7. What do people know that they should NEVER say to you?

Um???  That I’m ugly?  I agree with Anne.  It’s fine to know that you’re ugly and say it, but you always hope other people just don’t notice.  OHHHH!!! And that I’m tall.  Come on guys, it’s not like I notice that.  Or that a book was boring.  I might have found it interesting.  Or…..

Was that enough?

8. What’s the funniest conversation you’ve ever had?

Haha!  This is a great question.

It probably had to do with my height.  I’ve had hilarious conversations about that.  And about ideas I’ve had.  I have tons of different ideas that won’t work out.  Like not at all.  I never remember the obvious.  🙂  I suppose that means I’m a dreamer?  I don’t know.

9.Do you change your mind often?

All the TIME!  Actually, I don’t know.  Probably never.  Haha, did I just change my mind???

10. What’s one food you’d like to live on?

Beef.  And potatoes with coffee to drink.  I LOVE HAMBURGERS!!!  I couldn’t live without cows, dead or alive.

11. Do you have any lifelong regrets?

Uh, no, I’m only a teenager.  Maybe I regret not buying more converse but hey, I can always remedy that, right?  Lol, no way do I have lifelong regrets.  You don’t have time for those.

Random facts.  BEWARE!

I happen to have very cold feet.

I only like eggs if they’re fried or deviled (Is deviled a word?)

I don’t like red ink.

My favorite instrument to listen to is guitar or mandolin.

I hate random facts.  I can never think of them.

Skim milk isn’t real milk.  Give me raw milk or whole.

This is the seventh random fact.

I don’t paint my nails because it takes too long.

My ankles creak if I don’t wear shoes.

I don’t remember random facts.

I really like converse and boots.

I did it!! Eleven VERY random facts.

Nomination Time!

Unique Way to Describe…Amie? (TAG!!!)

Buttercup from Typically Untypical Teen created this amazing and pretty crazy tag.  I enjoy reading it, so you better as well.

I was so surprised and honored when I read Kendra’s post and saw she had tagged me! Hurray!  You get a free cyberspace cup of tea, Kendra!

Thank you, Kendra!!!!

  • Thank the blogger who nominated you (already done that.)
  • Link to the original post (Totally did that!)
  • Answer the questions (Uh, it’s coming.)
  • Tag at least five people  (That’s coming too!)
  • Copy and paste the original questions for your nominees to answer (And I’ll do that.)

Let’s fly into this.  Head gear checked?  Check.  Target found?  Check.  Let’s go get this!

What two candies describe your personality? Why?

Uh, guys, this is a weird question.  How is candy supposed to show your personality?  Probably Crybabies, because I’m sour and sweet at the some time.  (But isn’t everyone?)  Ah!  The other candy?  Oh, just so you know, I like sour but I hate the sweet after taste of Crybabies.  It’s disgusting.

Okay, second candy.  I’m trying to rack my brain to come up with this.  I like licorice but how does that show someones personality?  Oh!  I know!  Bubblegum.  My other candy is bubblegum.  I’m as bubbly and fun to chew (?!?!?) as bubblegum.  Maybe it should be fun to hangout with instead.  Oh!  And, you can’t get rid of me if I stick to the bottom of your shoe 😉 (I’m laughing at my own analogies!  What craziness!)

You can only answer in song lyrics. What’s one thing you want others to know about you?

“But it ain’t country’s heart and soul.  Because the kind that I know is dirt roads and front porch swings.  It’s that pride that Old Glory brings.  The kinda place a man’s word still means everything.  It’s life at a slow pace, leaning on Amazing Grace.  Some folks might choose to disagree, but that’s what country means to me.”

(“What Country mean to Me” by Lawson Bates)

What movie that is literally your life?

My life?  What? How can a movie be your life?  Do you mean a movie you’d love to meet the actors of?  I mean, to me, actors are the best part of movies (proof I do not like cartoons.)

Um, probably the Narnia movies.  I’d love to meet the actors in real life but it’s not like I’d die for it or anything.  Hmm, strange question.

What season describes your view of life?

Spring or Summer.  They’re both so warm, full of life, cloudless, and wonderful.  But I prefer cold weather, just cuz I like being cozy.

What scent holds memories for you?

Scent?  Wow, this is hard.  Why did they chose such HARD questions?  Um, the smell of hay?  No!  The smell of fresh-cut hay on a warm August day.  You can’t get better than that.  Well, maybe the smell of coffee, and horses, and cows comes really close.

Wow!  That was kinda fun but it made me really have to think.  I’m excited to nominate people.  Are you ready?  Are you a bit nervous?  It might be you!

IMG_6187I wanted to do a photography post today, but it just so happened I was tagged for this.  (Thank you again, Kendra!!!!)  Next Thursday, Oh, that’s Thanksgiving!  Hehe….Um, soon I’ll do a photography post, don’t worry.  I have been taking pictures.
