“Wake up, m’lady!”
I started to see a pleasant face looking down at me. I tried to figure out what had happened. I was in a fluffy but lumpy bed. Something just wasn’t right.
The girl who owned the pleasant face laughed and held out a hand. “Jane, it is time for you to rise. Today is the Christmas parade!”
“Oh?” I slipped out of the bed. One, I wasn’t Jane. Two, hadn’t the Christmas parade already happened? Ah, now I remembered. I had switched life’s with that medieval girl. Why where these people here though?
“Mary, you will talk Jane out of her mind,” laughed another girl with orange hair. She held a pure white dress with dark red velvet.
“I will not!’ the girl I assumed to be Mary giggled.
I was even more startled to see another girl walk into the room. How many girls lived here? This girl happened to be carrying a cloak and gloves.
“M’lady, you are late,” she exclaimed, stopping in her tracks.
“I just woke her up, Elizabeth,” Mary interjected, saving me from replying. I was beginning to like this Mary girl. Mary then lead me to a stool. “Bring all the garments, Anne,” Mary addressed the orange haired girl.
Anne gathered even more clothes, smashing the pretty dress she had been carrying. “You have a new dress, m’lady,” she informed me, setting out half a dozen dresses and skirts.
“Thank you?” I said, not sure what to say. Mary tickled me under the arm and laughed.
“You know what to do, Jane.” I did?
I put my arms up and soon Mary, Elizabeth, and Anne where all busy putting six layers on me. I was about smothered from all the clothes! How was I going to walk?
Then, Anne placed the pretty dress over my head. I couldn’t believe my eyes. The dress was even prettier up close.
Anne, Elizabeth, and Mary stepped back to examine their handiwork. With nods of approval, they lead me to a mirror.
I gasped when I saw my reflection. “Wow!”
“Pardon me?” Elizabeth asked.
“Oh, I didn’t say a thing,” I correct myself quickly. This was an odd situation.
Elizabeth gave me a look but only said, “I see. We must get you ready for the parade.”
“Why must I be in the parade?” I asked. Anne, Mary, and Elizabeth looked at me like I had two heads.
“As the Duke’s daughter you must be in the parade,” Mary said finally, her voice had an edge of awe in it. “You know you enjoy it.”
“Yes, I do but I’m not sure I wish to this year,” I grouped around my brain trying to register that I had switched life’s with a Duke’s daughter.
“Here,” Mary whispered in my ear. “Don’t worry. The parade isn’t long as you know.”
I nodded grimly. The three girls put the cloak, gloves, and a fur scarf on me before leading me out the door.
Soon, we walked out of the fortress that we were in. I nearly jumped out of my skins when I saw a sleigh.

What do you think happens? What is your favorite doll out of the four? Which was your favorite outfit?
~~Amie~~
P.S. It snowed a lot for where we live. I’ll be posting pictures soon.
I wonder if the Duke will see that Anna is not his daughter. My favorite outfit was the one Mary wore.

Fun story, A! I love the medieval dresses! Mary is my favorite character so far, although I don’t know much about any of them. I’m worried about Elizabeth–she seems suspicious!
Can’t wait to see pictures of the snow!
