Book snippet and where you can buy it…
You can buy Snowball and the Missing Apple HERE. (This might be my favorite illustration in the whole book. ❤ )
WAIT! Before we move on, I (not Snowball. *glances in his direction*) am having a giveaway. What am I giving away?
- A copy of Snowball and the Missing Apple
- A stuffed white rabbit. (I’m sorry I couldn’t giveaway a real one.)
- Two sheets of stickers-one puffy fruits-one silly succulents.
GUYS. The succulent stickers ARE THE CUTEST. I want to keep them! So, go enter!
*rubs hands together* Now for the fun part. Oh, wait! Also, I’m doing a LIVE YouTube Q&A on Saturday. I’ll announce the time tomorrow, but you don’t want to forget it, and you also want to ask those questions on MY blog for giveaway points. 😉
So…Now for the process. It started out with getting Snowball. Snowball was just a ball of fluff, and I loved him to pieces. When he was about, oh, five months old, I decided that if I were ever to make a children’s picture book, it would be about him.

Well, that summer, a contest for a picture book came up, and the genre was mystery. My mom had all sorts of ideas, but I said I was going to do one about Snowball and an apple.
The process started with me working pretty much every morning on an illustration. I would sit next to Snowball, and turn on my music. (Lawson Bates or the Bontragers, anyone?)
I started the illustrations, and then I ditched them and tried them again. This time, I drew 18 of the illustrations, and sent them in for the contest. Unfortunately, I did not win the contest, and so I thought I was done with it. Fast forward to December.
A friend had been publishing short stories and stuff like crazy, and so I caught the publishing fever, and began thinking. The Snowball book popped up in my mind, and so I decided to look into it. I changed the original 18 illustrations to 34, and other than that, I just published the book.
So, now to the schedule…

Here’s some Q&A questions for your Video:
What is snowballs favorite snack?
Do you have a favorite writing snack?
How long does it take you to draw each illustration?
And for the silly song:
Hop to the left, do the hoparina (ya, not sure on the spelling for tha!) Hop to the right, do the hoparina…
A veggietales silly song! I’m sure Snowball likes it! 🙂 lol
